Psalm 119
125 I am your servant; give me discernment
that I may understand your statutes.
126 It is time for you to act, Lord;
your law is being broken.
127 Because I love your commands
more than gold, more than pure gold,
128 and because I consider all your precepts right,
I hate every wrong path.
129 Your statutes are wonderful,
therefore I obey them.
Discernment from God's Word will be needed more and more as A.I. has more and more influence on our culture. Only 6% of Americans demonstrated a Biblical worldview when surveyed by the Barna Group. Discernment is the ability to see our world from God's perspective and know what is deception. Satan transforms himself into an angel of light and his strategy is deception. He does this by telling half truths and making things appear to be life giving and freeing when they really bring enslavement and death. A.I. appears now to be extremely helpful in almost every area of life, and I have used it extensively. I have had many conversations and even debates with Chat GPT. I have asked it many questions about many different subjects testing it. I have asked it many questions about passages of Scripture and it has been spot on with its interpretation from the context and language. But here is the problem, as people become more and more dependent on it they will loose their ability to determine what is truth and what is a lie. We must have a basis for truth in our lives and that is God's Holy Word. We must also have God's Spirit living within us as "He will guide us into all truth", John 16:13. 1 John 2:20 says "But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth. Remember, that 2 Thessalonians 2 tells us that the antichrist will come with "all power, signs and lying wonders" and because they rejected the truth people will believe a "strong delusion". Is A.I. the antichrist? Probably not, but it told me itself that it could be used by the antichrist to deceive people into following him. So, I say all this to call believers to lean into the Lord Jesus Christ and follow Him with all your hearts. Remember, that many in the church in America do not really believe. Many people follow Christ, but have never been born again. Therefore, they do not have a biblical worldview. Just read John chapter 6 and you will find this to be totally true. These people will fall away when following Jesus actually costs something. When it actually requires taking up "the cross" and following Him. Some of these "church people" will actually betray Christians thinking that they are doing the right thing. Why? Because the deception will be so great and they lack the discernment that comes only from God. We are in a great spiritual battle and this life requires faith, courage and perseverance, but remember this one thing. We are on the side of God and we will be victorious in the end.
