Our community is characterized by a diversity of creative members who live by faith, are known by love, and are a voice of hope to those without. We are a people who come from different cultures, ethnicities, generations, socioeconomic status, education, an

d religious backgrounds. In fact, the unifying story of our people at Grace is that we are a motley collection of broken pieces, mended and fitted together by a master craftsman. In Christ, we see God taking our broken lives and together making them beautiful. Last Sunday Craig Uplinger continued with our summer series entitled “Inspired”. This sermon was about Father & Son Stories.

Using the story of the Abraham and Isaac, Craig spoke about testing from God, and how it is to refine us, and prepare us for the purpose God has for us. We learned that testing can both reveal things about us and refine what is within us. We may not like being tested, but God does it to us lovingly and it is what we do with the test that matters.

INSPIRED

What is the Bible and how are we to read it?
 
Is it an ancient rulebook designed to govern our behavior or is it more like an inspired set of stories that are intended to nurture compassion, shape identity, and fuel transformation in its readers along the way?
 
Come join us this summer as we engage the Scriptures with honesty & curiosity, trusting that as we do, we will be inspired by the lessons we learn and the people we become.

This week we will be looking at the parable of The Prodigal Son as we learn about the destructive potential of pride and shame and the transformational potential of compassion and unconditional love.
