Celebrating the Feast of Saints Joachim and Anne, Honoring Our Grandparents and the Gift of Healing
On July 26, we celebrate the feast day of Saints Joachim and Anne, the beloved parents of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the grandparents of our Lord Jesus Christ. They remind us of the beauty, wisdom, faith, and love that our grandparents have shared with us and the important role they continue to play in our families and our Church.
In thanksgiving and appreciation for our grandparents, we will celebrate a special Mass on Saturday, July 25, at 9:00 AM. During this Mass, we will offer our prayers for all grandparents—those who are with us, those who have gone before us, and those who are in need of God’s loving care.
Following the Mass, Father Carlo will administer the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick, a powerful sacrament of Christ’s healing, strength, peace, and grace. This sacrament is offered for those experiencing physical illness, emotional struggles, spiritual burdens, those preparing for upcoming surgery, or anyone who may benefit from the healing presence of the Lord.
If you would like us to remember your grandparents, loved ones, or family members who are sick or who have passed away, please write their names on a piece of paper and place them inside an envelope. You may place the envelope in the designated prayer box. These names will be brought to the altar during Mass as we entrust them to God’s loving mercy and care through our prayers.
Light refreshments will follow after Mass. We invite everyone to join us as we celebrate, remember, and give thanks for the precious gift of our grandparents and the healing grace of God.
