How things go by us:

Welcome Friends! Notes for Visitors and Newcomers

Meeting for Worship. Every Sunday morning, 10:30 to 11:30, rain or shine, we sit in silence together, rising to speak if the Spirit moves us.

Silent Witness for Peace. Every Sunday, 11:30 to noon. Corner of Sycamore and Broad (Route 35).

Ministry & Counsel (M&C) Committee. First Sunday of the month at noon. Oversees spiritual well-being of the community and of the individuals therein. Includes membership process, Sunday School, Friendly Discussion, conflicts in meeting, holding folks in need in the light, etc.

Business Meeting. Second Sunday of the month at noon. Oversees the whole meeting—membership, finances, external interactions including activism, legal requirements, building, grounds, etc.

Friendly Discussion. Third Sunday of the month at noon. Sharing on topics brought forward by M&C or by the convener.

Potluck, AKA Meeting for Eating. Fourth Sunday of the month at noon.

Sunday School. Fourth Sunday of every month during meeting for worship.

Discussions, Meeting for Healing, etc. Fifth Sunday throughout the year. Different offerings depending on what Ministry & Counsel agrees to.

Other things folks like to know:

Membership. If you’d like to become a member, email your request, and what moved you to make it, to [email protected]. The process can take a couple months.

Contributions. You’re invited to offer your resources of time, talent and money, as Spirit moves you. For a financial contribution, there are two boxes in the east room (kitchen side); or you can mail a check to Shrewsbury Quaker Meeting, PO Box 92, Shrewsbury NJ 07702, or donate online at ShrewsburyQuakers.org.

This Sunday, as always, Meeting for Worship at 10:30. All welcome! And at 12:15, Ministry & Counsel Committee meetings. M&C is responsible for the spiritual health and well-being of the community as a whole, and of the individuals therein. Everyone is welcome there also. Hanging out with us while business is conducted is a really cool way to understand Quaker ways—always in direct communication with our higher power, as best we can.
