Each season of Lent, the people of Zion Lutheran Church in The Dalles participate in almsgiving — a way to show love and mercy to others — and one week in 2026 money was collected for the Chenowith Elementary School Booster Club. This week, the booster club was able to provide a nacho bar for 60 staff members at Chenowith — celebrating Cinco De Mayo! Thank you Chenowith Booster Club for recognizing the hard work and dedication of the staff at Chenowith Elementary School!

We remember Jesus' command to love and serve one another, marked by the Last Supper and the humble act of foot washing.
▪️ Good Friday - April 3 at 7pm
A solemn time to reflect on Christ's sacrifice on the cross and the depth of His love for us.
▪️ Easter Sunday - April 5 at 10am
We celebrate the joy and hope of the resurrection with bells, organ, trumpet, and choirs - Christ is risen!

Originally composed by Marty Haugen as "Vespers '86" for , this beautiful service has become a beloved evening liturgy around the world. At Zion, it has been part of our Lenten rhythm for more than 20 years.

When we launched the organ repair fundraiser on Reformation Sunday we didn't know how long it would take to reach our goal. Amazingly, through generous donations, memorial gifts, and a final push from the Lars Ryssdal family in memory of our late organist Phyllis Ronfeld, we surpassed our goal by the end of February. What a remarkable accomplishment in just four months! It is a testament to the generosity, prayer, and commitment of this community.

The 1970s-era console will be shipped off for repair this summer to replace what was, at one time, state-of-the-art solid-state technology. This major overhaul will guarantee another 50+ years of beautiful music here at Zion.

The donations of food for The Annex continues to grow! Zion is grateful for the faithful people who have contributed.
