For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (2nd Timothy 1:7)

What if the peace you've been chasing was never yours to earn in the first place?

We've heard this verse a thousand times.

Quoted at conferences. Printed on coffee mugs. Shared in moments of crisis.

But here's what we often miss —

Peter wrote these words in the middle of a chapter addressed specifically to ministry leaders.

He wasn't surprised they were anxious. He expected it.

Because he listed exactly what they were carrying —

The weight of shepherding real souls. The temptation of domineering leadership. The daily battle with humility. The awareness that an enemy is actively stalking them. The cost of suffering that comes with the calling.

Of course they were anxious.

So maybe — just maybe — anxiety in ministry isn't always a sign that something is wrong with you.

Maybe it's a sign that you truly understand the weight of what you've been entrusted with.

The presence of anxiety doesn't mean you lack faith.
It might mean you take your calling seriously.

Cast it on Him. Not because it isn't real.
But because He can carry what you cannot.

In a world filled with chaos and uncertainty, it's easy to wonder who really runs the show. But in our recent sermon, we were reminded that God is the ultimate judge and ruler of all things. Drawing from Job 40:6-14, we learned that God's wisdom, power, and justice far surpass our own. When trials come our way, we can rest assured that God is there with us, providing the strength, resources, and perspective we need to thrive.

Just like Job, we may find ourselves questioning God in the midst of hardships. But as we saw, God's ways are higher than ours, and He alone is able to run the world with perfect justice and wisdom. We are called to trust in Him, knowing that He is more than capable of handling any situation that comes our way.

So today, let's surrender control to God and allow Him to guide our steps. Let's lean into His strength and wisdom, knowing that He is able to do immeasurably more than we could ever imagine. Will you join me in placing our trust in the One who truly runs the world? Let's invite Him to take the lead in our lives and watch as He works wonders beyond our wildest dreams.
