🦁Little Voices, Big Faith: How Cody’s Favorite Song is Spreading Joy

Never underestimate the power of a 3-year old with a favorite song.

This morning, The Wilson family shared a story about their youngest son that put a massive smile on my face and brought tears to my eyes. Cody’s favorite song right now is Lion by Elevation Worship. He requests it every time they get in the car and is heard singing it at the top of his lungs all day long.

As it turns out, Cody’s passion doesn't stop in the backseat. His mom found out that his public daycare plays Lion at least once a day so Cody can sing it out loud for all his classmates and teachers. At just three years old, Cody is boldly sharing his faith, joy, and the message of Jesus with kids and adults alike.

It’s a glorious reminder that impact has no age requirement:
👉In our homes, children remind us to worship uninhibited and joyfully.
👉In our schools and daycares, their natural openness opens doors for light and encouragement.
👉In our community, their simple faith challenges the rest of us to be bold and vocal about what and who we love.

Scripture tells us in Psalm 8:2, "Through the praise of children and infants, you have established a stronghold...."

🙏🏻Let’s pray for Cody and all the young ones in our church family today.
May we all carry a little bit of Cody’s courage, singing our faith loudly wherever we happen to be!

This Sunday’s message on Keys to a Better Marriage reminded us that a Christ‑centered relationship is built through daily choices that reflect His character. Scripture calls husbands and wives to honor one another with understanding, gentleness, and sacrificial love—“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church…” (Ephesians 5:25). We were challenged to let Jesus meet our deepest emotional needs so we don’t place unrealistic burdens on our spouse, to practice kindness because “kind words are as sweet as honey” (Proverbs 16:24), and to value each other above ourselves as Philippians 2 teaches. Healthy marriages grow when we serve one another, think before we speak, and choose healing words instead of hurtful ones—“Careless words stab like a sword, but wise words bring healing” (Proverbs 12:18). Finally, we were encouraged to look for the gold in each other, not the dirt, and to deal with conflict daily so the enemy gains no foothold. These seven keys form a practical, biblical path toward a stronger, more joyful marriage.

✏️This past Sunday, we launched our Adopt a Student in Prayer project! We still have several student prayer bookmarks waiting to be picked up by our church family.

Our kids and teens are stepping into a new school year, and we want every single student to be covered in prayer—for their hearts, minds, protection, and friendships.

How You Can Help:
🍎Pick Up a Bookmark: Stop by the Prayer Wall in the lobby during office hour this week OR Sunday to grab a pencil bookmark with a student’s name.
🍎Pray Throughout the Year: Keep the bookmark in your Bible, planner, or journal and use the guided prayer on the back to lift them up all year long.

This Sunday’s message invited us to see encouragement not as a shallow positive thought but as a spiritual provision God uses to strengthen His people when life presses hard. Drawing from Romans 15, Hebrews 10, and other passages, we were reminded that God Himself is the One who gives endurance and comfort, and He calls us to reflect that same heart toward one another. Encouragement becomes a ministry: sharing God’s Word when someone is weary, staying connected to the church family, noticing and affirming spiritual growth, offering compassionate presence, and praying faithfully for others. As the document puts it, “Encouragement is how God reinforces the heart when circumstances attempt to drain our hope.” In a world that often isolates and exhausts, the church becomes a place where God’s people build each other up so that, with one voice, we glorify Christ.
