On Saturday, May 30, people from across Oregon, Washington, and Idaho gathered at St. Peter’s in The Dalles, Oregon, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Schoenstatt Pilgrim Mother Apostolate in the Pacific Northwest.

As a worldwide movement of prayer, the Schoenstatt Pilgrim Mother apostolate involves the blessed image of the Mother Thrice Admirable (MTA) traveling to homes, schools, hospitals, and prisons. This mission fosters prayer, particularly the Rosary, and a "covenant of love" with Mary to help evangelize families.

The celebration began with the Sacrament of Reconciliation, a Rosary procession, and the Mass of the Visitation. The afternoon featured presentations on Schoenstatt’s history and expansion throughout the Northwest, as well as Covenant celebrations.

Schoenstatt Father Hugo Tagle and Sr. Deanne Niehaus, from the Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary, led the Covenant of Love celebrations and the recommissioning of Pilgrim Mother images. Fr. Hugo concluded the event with a final blessing and sending forth.

This coming Friday, June 5th is First Friday. There will be 24 hour Eucharistic Adoration. Please consider signing up in the church vestibule to spend 1 hour with our Lord.

We need to make sure that all 24 hours are covered because we CAN NOT leave Jesus unattended while He is exposed on the altar. We need a minimum of 1 Adorer for each hour that Jesus is exposed. 2 Adorers is ALWAYS preferred and more than that is added blessings.

Father will hear confessions in the church this evening, Wednesday, June 3rd from 5:30pm-7:00pm.

There will be Eucharistic Adoration during this time as well.

World Priest Day will be celebrated on Friday, June 12th.

Please consider offering up a Holy Hour before the Blessed Sacrament for our pastor Fr. Rene and all of our priests.

Also beginning the weekend of May 24th we will have "Spiritual Bouquet Cards" available in the vestibule. Please consider filling one out and returning them to the office or the basket in the back of the church so that we can give this beautiful bouquet to Father on June 12th.

On June 11, 2026, the U.S. bishops will consecrate the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus as part of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Parishes are encouraged to participate.
