Lifesong Church exists to help people Know God, Live in Freedom, Discover Purpose, and Deliver Hope.

We are Jesus-centered church for imperfect people seeking a community of grace, hope, and love. Lifesong Church was launched in 2006 by Pastor David and Ginelle Payne, along with 40 other people. Today, under Pastor David's leadership, Lifesong seeks to reach the central Massachusetts region helping people come to Know God, Live in Freedom, Discover Purpose, and Deliver Hope.

From worshipping side by side and welcoming new faces to opening God’s Word and growing together, we’re so grateful for every Sunday we get to share with all of you. If it makes me happy, it must be right… right? 👀⁠

Not everything that makes us happy is good for us. And not everything that’s right will make us happy in the moment.⁠
⁠
God isn’t trying to make our lives miserable—but His greatest concern isn’t our immediate happiness. He wants to shape our hearts, our desires, and our lives around His purposes. ❤️⁠

Because sometimes, the thing we want most isn’t the thing that leads us where God wants us to go.⁠
⁠
Your feelings often follow what you choose. So choose to trust Him, even when it’s not the easiest or most comfortable path. 🙌⁠

What if the things we think will make us happy are actually keeping us from the joy God has for us?⁠
⁠
This Sunday, Pastor David challenged us to rethink the relationship between happiness, blessing, and God’s will. Being blessed doesn’t always mean being immediately happy, and following Jesus won’t always be the easiest or most convenient path.⁠
⁠
Through Philippians 4, we were reminded that true contentment isn’t found in getting everything we want. It’s found in learning to trust Jesus in every season and finding our strength in Him. ❤️⁠
⁠
Because the pursuit of happiness can come at the expense of contentment. And even if we want something or enjoy it, that doesn’t mean it’s good for us.⁠

Let’s keep choosing the joy that comes from knowing Jesus, not just chasing what feels good in the moment. ✝️⁠

We’re quick to blame the people and circumstances around us when our joy starts to disappear. But sometimes, the warning signs have been there for a while, and we haven’t been paying attention.⁠

Just like your car needs regular maintenance, your joy needs intentional care. Protecting our joy is active, not passive. ❤️⁠

Joy doesn’t just happen. It takes maintenance. 🔧❤️⁠
⁠
This Sunday, Pastor David reminded us that protecting our joy is active, not passive. Through Philippians 3, we were challenged to pay attention to the things that can slowly pull us away from the presence of God, negative influences, legalism, and self-righteousness, and to keep growing in our relationship with Jesus.⁠
⁠
Because when we stop knowing, we stop growing. And when our joy is anchored in Christ, it gives us the strength to keep pursuing the purpose He’s called us to. 🙌⁠
⁠
And maybe the biggest reminder? Don’t lose sight of your destination. Our citizenship is in heaven, and where we’re headed should shape how we live today. ✝️⁠

Grateful for another Sunday of worship, communion, God’s Word, and lives saying YES to Jesus. ❤️⁠

We can’t control what people do to us. We can’t avoid conflict, disappointment, or difficult circumstances. But we can choose what we do with those things.⁠

Joy can’t be stolen, but it can be forfeited. And the good news? It can be refound. 🙌⁠
⁠
Sometimes recovering our joy means choosing unity over division, humility over pride, and others over ourselves. It means letting go of our rights and taking on the posture of Jesus.⁠

The joy of the Lord is our strength. ❤️⁠

What a Sunday! 🙌❤️⁠
⁠
We worshiped together, opened God’s Word, and were reminded that joy can’t be stolen, but it can be forfeited—and refound.⁠
⁠
Pastor David challenged us to look inward instead of pointing outward—to choose unity over division, humility over pride, and the interests of others over living only for ourselves. And ultimately, to follow the example of Jesus by giving up our rights, taking on the identity of a servant, and living for the good of others. 🙏⁠
⁠
We also had the privilege of commissioning a new team of Stephen Ministers after months of training and equipping! ❤️⁠
⁠
These incredible members of our church are stepping into a ministry of one-to-one, Christ-centered care—coming alongside people in seasons of grief, loss, illness, transition, and other life struggles to listen, pray, encourage, and offer support.⁠
⁠
What a beautiful picture of the kind of life we talked about, not just living for ourselves, but living to help others find strength, hope, and the joy of the Lord. 🙌⁠

Let’s keep choosing the way of Jesus.⁠

God doesn’t promise us happiness. He offers us joy.🫣⁠
⁠
Happiness is circumstantial. Joy is Christ-anchored.⁠
Happiness is chance-based. Joy is choice-based.⁠
⁠
When our mood, attitude, and outlook can be completely changed by whatever happens around us, we may be living for happiness instead of living from joy.⁠
⁠
Paul showed us what it looks like to have a joy that isn’t dependent on circumstances. Even when life didn’t go the way he wanted, his focus remained on Christ and the purpose God had given him.⁠
⁠
This past Sunday, Pastor David reminded us that we don’t have to let every circumstance dictate our disposition. We can choose joy—regardless.🙌⁠
