June Prayer Prompts!

First Photo:
Each month we are encouraged to pray for different churches in our district. In June, please pray for: Bishop & staff of the Desert Southwest Conference Churches of the East, North and West Districts

Second Photo:
With temperatures rising, we pray for
- physical protection for outdoor workers, the unhoused, and pets
- safety from wildfires, especially for firefighters and first responders
- health and endurance for elderly and other vulnerable groups
- praise for the natural beauty of our gorgeous state
- alleviation of drought conditions, praying for wisdom and discernment for companies who use a lot of water for better management, as well as a growth in sustainable practices throughout the valley, and a healthy monsoon season
- give thanks for the inventor of air conditioning (we're sure they were divinely inspired! 😆)

Please join us in our prayers!

SUNDAY SCRIPTURE POSTS

The scripture from yesterday, Sunday, May 31, 2026

Genesis 1:1-5
"When God began creating the heavens and the earth, the earth was a shapeless, chaotic mass, with the Spirit of God brooding over the dark vapors. Then God said, 'Let there be light.' And light appeared. And God was pleased with it and divided the light from the darkness. He called the light 'daytime,' and the darkness 'nighttime.' Together they formed the first day." (NLT)

Psalm 104:24-30
"What a wildly wonderful world, God!
You made it all, with Wisdom at your side,
made earth overflow with your wonderful creations.
Oh, look—the deep, wide sea,
brimming with fish past counting,
sardines and sharks and salmon.
Ships plow those waters,
and Leviathan, your pet dragon, romps in them.
All the creatures look expectantly to you
to give them their meals on time.
You come, and they gather around;
you open your hand and they eat from it.
If you turned your back,
they’d die in a minute—
Take back your Spirit and they die,
revert to original mud;
Send out your Spirit and they spring to life—
the whole countryside in bloom and blossom." (MSG)

The scripture from yesterday, Sunday, May 17, 2026

Acts 2:1-24
"When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues As the Spirit enabled them. Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard their own language being spoken… Amazed and perplexed, they asked one another, 'What does this mean?' Some, however, made fun of them and said, 'They have had too much wine.'
Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: 'Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say. These people are not drunk, as you suppose…No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: ‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’
‘Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross. But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.’" (NIV)
