A Prayer for a New School Year:

Lord Jesus,

As our children and school staff begin their first day of school, we place each of them in Your mighty hands.

Cover every child as they enter their classroom. Calm every anxious heart, give confidence to those who feel afraid, and help each student know that they are seen, valued, and loved. Protect them physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Give them wisdom to make good choices, courage to stand for what is right, and kindness toward everyone they meet. Help them learn, grow, build healthy friendships, and discover the gifts You have placed within them.

Strengthen every teacher, administrator, counselor, aide, bus driver, custodian, cafeteria worker, and support staff member. Give them patience, compassion, wisdom, energy, and grace. When challenges arise, help them respond with understanding. Remind them that the work they do matters and that their influence can shape a child’s life.

Lord, protect every school building, classroom, playground, vehicle and bus. Let our schools be places of safety, peace, belonging, learning, and hope. Bring unity between families and staff, and provide every resource needed for a successful year.

May every child and staff member return home safely today and every day. Go before them, walk beside them, and watch over them in all they do.

No regular church service today instead we took the church into our community! We’ve got pictures to provide it. Our Back-to-School BBQ was filled with joy, connection, dancing, basketball and crafts and most of all the love of Christ. Thank you to everyone who helped us love our neighbors well!
