LaVerne Sieving Delph Gondry

1933 - 2025



LaVerne was born November 25, 1933 in Pemberville Ohio to Harmon and Dorothy Sieving, the youngest of five children. She moved to California with her Husband, Wilbur Delph in 1961 settling in Stockton in 1963. The family joined Zion Lutheran Church in Stockton in 1963 and she has been an active member there ever since. LaVerne passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025 after a second battle with cancer.
She later divorced Wilbur but they remained on friendly terms for the rest of their lives. She married Robert Gondry and they enjoyed traveling and taking cruises together until he passed.
LaVerne worked for the San Joaquin County Treasurer's Office for 17 years. In retirement she stayed very active in her bowling league, playing cards and bunko and watching the Sacramento Kings. She enjoyed her eight grandchildren immensely often joining in on their shenanigans-especially on our family cation last summer.
She is survived by her brother Kenny Sieving and her four children Vickie Delph (Jeff Hawkins), Duane (Karen) Delph, Benjamin Delph (Brandy Hawkins) and Barbara (Mike) Wahl. Her eight grandchildren Zoe Papas, Evan, Delph, Paige Delph, Bryson Delph, Alex Delph, Ryan (Avery) Wahl, Amanda Wahl and Christina Wahl along with several nieces and nephews in Ohio.
Donations in her memory can be made to Zion Lutheran Church in Stockton or the Loel Senior Center in Lodi (loelcenter.org)

Services will be held on May 30, 2025 at 11:00 at Zion Lutheran Church, 808 Porter Avenue, Stockton, CA.
