We seek to intentionally move people from being just "attenders" to mature disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. SUNDAY is when we focus on LOVING GOD through great worship and Biblical Preaching aimed at TRANSFORMATION not INFORMATION. LOVING OTHERS happens in our Small Groups on Sundays and Wednesday evenings we try to develop relationships with one another. We are engaged in MISSIONS as our endea

vor to SERVE THE WORLD. We support missionaries in Romania, and are part of a growing Food Pantry in Stilesville.

As Christians we are to be "set apart" by the way we live (for Christ). Although we are in the world we are not to be entertaining the ways of this world.

We are to "seek what is above" in all we do, daily.

Christ is the cornerstone (that many reject!)
We are all building blocks.
We don't build a physical church - we are chosen by God to build his Kingdom with making disciples of PEOPLE ("living stones").

Let's continue with Chris in the 2nd chapter of 1 Peter.

All other religions are merit-based.
There are things you have to do in order to earn access to heaven.

What's different about is that JESUS DID ALL THE WORK FOR US - He paid our debt!

This is why we serve him with joyful obedience- because he showers us with grace we don't deserve and reconciles us back to the Father.

There is only ONE way to God - and that's through Jesus.

What an amazing deal!

We just had another person give their life to Christ today and we couldn't be more proud and happy!

"Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers[a] of this world, rather than from Christ."
Colossians 2:8

“What Paul had in view here is not the ‘standard’ philosophies but the speculative mixture of ideas from Judaism, Hellenistic religion and philosophy that were apparently current at Colossae.”[3] New Testament scholar Moyer Hubbard, likewise, considers the unnamed philosophy to be “a syncretistic hybrid of Jewish mystical practices and popular pagan folk-belief.”

Jews who were under the Mosaic Law stumbled and failed to keep the Law. But Christ succeeded in obedience to the Law. He lived blameless before the Father. He performed the last sacrifice with His own body upon the cross and put to an end the era of making holy offerings to the God by consecrated priests within a holy temple (Gal. 3:1-29; Rom. 3:19-31; Heb. 4:14-10:18).

Jesus is the TRUTH - therefore, any claim of knowing the truth has to be checked against the source.

In 1772, the famous Christian hymn "Amazing Grace" was written. Not many realize that the author, John Newton, was an English sailor and captain of slave ships.
After fighting through an 11 hour-long storm, Newton came to the realisation that his life seemed as ruined and wrecked as the battered ship he was trying to steer - and he cried out to God for help.
Only God's could and would take a rude, profane, slave-trading sailor and transform him into a child of God. Newton never ceased to stand in awe of God's work in his life.

We, as Christians, should realize the sheer amount of amazing grace that has been bestowed upon us by our God. And he continues to pour it out daily, until the day he returns.
