After taking the summer off, the Stewartville Driftskippers Snowmobile Club is excited to get back together and start preparing for another snowmobile season!

📅 Next Club Meeting: Thursday, September 10th
⏰ 7:30 PM
📍 Stewartville American Legion

Fall is one of the busiest and most important times of the year for our club. Before the snow flies, there is plenty of work to be done, including reinstalling bridges that may have been affected by heavy summer rains, looking at possible trail reroutes due to land permission changes, brushing trails, installing signs, and getting the entire trail system ready for winter.

Have you ever thought about joining a snowmobile club? Now is the perfect time!

Come to our September meeting, meet the members, and find out what goes into making our local trail system happen each winter. You don't need to make a huge time commitment to make a difference. Even helping for a few hours over a couple of weekends is a big help! There are plenty of ways to get involved, and every extra set of hands makes the workload a little easier.

Our trails don't just magically appear when the snow falls. They happen because of volunteers willing to donate their time and, just as importantly, the generosity of our local landowners who allow the trails to cross their property.

A huge THANK YOU to all of our current Driftskippers members who continue to volunteer their time, equipment, and effort year after year. And an equally big THANK YOU to our landowners—without your continued support and permission, our local trail system simply wouldn't be possible.

👉 Please consider joining the Stewartville Driftskippers this season. Come see us September 10th and find out how you can be part of keeping snowmobiling strong in the Stewartville area.

As we’re out picking up trail markers today, it officially brings the snowmobile season to a close on April 1st.

We want to send out a huge THANK YOU to our incredible landowners, dedicated club members, and all the snowmobilers who support and respect the trails. Without you, none of this would be possible.

The season started off with strong momentum and high hopes for a great winter. While Mother Nature had other plans, we’re still grateful for the time we had on the trails and the effort everyone put in to make it happen.

Here’s to better snow next season.
Until then—stay safe, enjoy the off-season, and we’ll see you back on the trails soon!

Looking for an opportunity to get involved with the Stewartville Driftskippers but not sure where to start? Here’s your chance! 👇

We’re looking for a few extra hands to help remove trail signs this Sunday, March 29th starting at 8:00 AM. We plan to be wrapped up by noon (or sooner).

Even if you can only help for a couple of hours, it truly makes a difference. No experience needed and you don’t have to be a club member—heck, bring a friend or two and enjoy some fresh air with us!

👉 What to bring:
• Mud boots
• Gloves
• Dress for the weather
• And most importantly… your smile 😄

This is a great way to give back, meet some awesome people, and support the trails we all enjoy. We’d love to see you out there!

Good morning, snowmobilers,

Just a quick update from the Stewartville Driftskippers Snowmobile Club. After discussion, we have determined that it is not feasible to go out and groom today or tomorrow.

The main reason is that the ground is no longer frozen, and temperatures are expected to rise above freezing starting Wednesday, with highs in the 50s forecast for Friday. Trust us, no one wishes these conditions would have happened in January more than our club members and groomer operators. A lot of time and effort goes into preparing and maintaining these trails so everyone can enjoy them when conditions are right.

Please continue to respect the landowners and the land we ride on, especially when trail conditions are less than ideal. The trails remain open until 4/1/26 and are still marked, so we are not saying you cannot ride, only that the trails will not be groomed.

Please ride safe, use good judgment, and be aware that we have received a couple of reports of bridges being washed out from last week’s rain.

Thank you for your understanding and support.
