Today, we are looking for Ephesians 5:31–33 ESV
“Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church. However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

Christian marriage serves as a type of everyday temple where Christ reveals himself through the sacrificial love of husband and wife.

Friday Devotion

Today, we are looking for Ephesians 5:6, 11–14a ESV
Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. . . . Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret. But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible, for anything that becomes visible is light.

This is not about broken rules but broken people, not condemning labels but creative love.

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

As image-bearers of the triune God, we are meant to live this graced pattern of life together for the sake of each other and the world.

Put away from you all bitterness and wrath and anger and wrangling and slander, together with all malice, and be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you.

The effectiveness of our mission to the world is in direct proportion to the quality of our relationships with each other.

Today, we are looking for Ephesians 4:14–16 NRSV
We must no longer be children, tossed to and fro and blown about by every wind of doctrine, by people’s trickery, by their craftiness in deceitful scheming. But speaking the truth in love, we must grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by every ligament with which it is equipped, as each part is working properly, promotes the body’s growth in building itself up in love.

We must learn to take off our masks and meet one another in our places of weakness rather than our strength

Tuesday Devotion

Today, we are looking for Ephesians 4:11–13 NRSV
The gifts he gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ.

We need these gifts in order for the body of Christ to be built up in order for the love of God to be manifest through the people of God that the world may come to know Jesus.

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

The Spirit works directly and humanly, yet supernaturally, through men and women.
