Can you hear Him when He whispers your name?
Does it fill you with fear or Joy?
He does call out to you and I.
And in all the Names I've been known by and called, none is as sweet or sounds as musical as the one He whispers to me in prayer and surrender.

I'm SHOOK! to my core.

I'm going to start this post with a reminder and a warning:

Tell the people in your world that you love them every chance you get. There comes a day when you no longer have that opportunity.

This morning we got word that three beautiful souls were called home to be with their Lord and Savior.

We meet the Fritz family in the most stressful of weeks in a ministries year, in the most loving and fun way. Although Pastor at the time didn't find it too much fun. Dan, who passed a few years ago, was a God called missionary determined to fulfill his calling. He was husband to a lovely little spit fire named Khristy Fritz. She was definitely the lady from Proverbs 31, with some extra spice attached.

They have three wonderful, adventurous children who didn't always like being on the road, but they loved and honored their parents. Even when they had to flee a roadside trailer fire in the middle of the deputation journey.
Daniel, the oldest, is the true definition of Big Brother. Andrew is the strong, ornery scrapper.

Then there was Amber. Tough as nails, a perfect mix of both of her parents, with a pinch of each of her brothers. The past several years devoted to her son, Asher, who was born with many health challenges that they met head on with Khristy and everyone else in the family at their sides.

They all love God and they have all been on their own paths in that.

This morning the journey ended for Khristy Fritz, Amber Fritz, and young Asher as God brought them into his fold.

We didn't know Asher well. But he is a party of the family gone, now.

It's been a little over a year since Khristy and I chatted. But we never forgot to say "I love you in the Lord. And Love you, Sister." at the end of every call.

These two ladies will be greatly missed. They are mostly definitely loved.

I love it when the first day of the month, the first day of the week, and the natural first day of a season all fall on the same day.

I know.... the Calendar puts the first day of Fall a few weeks off yet...... but the order of God does not follow a mankind designed Roman [Gregorian era] Calendar.

Fall is here when the birds sing about it, the bunnies dance to their song, the squirrels frantically build and gather to the tune, the frogs and the crickets sing along, and there is harmony between the critters, the yard, and the flow of the day.

Good evening. We've been back home from the trip to Yuma for a few hours now.

When we got home we had mixed feelings about how the day went.

Maybe partly because I am not in the greatest of shape. I popped my back out a day after we made the commitment to go. A bad back can make for an off day. However, commitment is an important part of service.
Our commitment to current goals of service remains steady and steadfast.

Our grandson Tristan also went along and felt the need to test boundaries and get a feel for the new place. So that was interesting and exciting.

We met some new faces, and worshipped and got in a little fellowship with familiar brothers and sisters.

Brother Mike drove us home from Yuma and I tried to own the comfortable portions of the back seat that were available.

The trip over was a display of weather on the prairie, early Fall. The new wind farm outside of Sterling was barely visible through the clouds hugging the hills of the prairie. The air was fresh and chilled, and the dew hung on until well after 10am.

Coming back, visibility was better. The threat of rainstorms clung to the sky as though pasted there until the rains themselves would flow free and dissolve the sealant holding the clouds in place. The critters of the countryside indicated that they knew we were in for another day of rain and wind. The winds were forgiving, as though they were trying to postpone the real attitude until we made it home.

And if you think, after reading thus far, that God was good to us today in our adventure: I'm not done with today's blessings.

As I'd said at the beginning of this post, we had mixed feelings about today. As we sit with coffee and a light Summer supper and review the day; me still feeling just a bit off; Dad looks at me and says, "I'd like to go back there again. If we can manage it once in awhile." And Tristan piped up and said, "Me too."

It took me a minute to recover.
We have worked for years at getting Dad into church. When he came home from his last hospitalization mid-June of 2023 and refused to try to go to any church, we brought the worship and Bible studies to him in the living room at home.

To hear him say that he enjoyed going to church and fellowshipping with members of that church just filled us with joy. The entire year, and all those previous years of effort before, and all the prayers over the years ........

Well.... we have been blessed in our diligence and devotion.

We now need to pray for these trips to go smoother each time we go. We are now headed into the next phase of our ministering to my dad and Tristan.

Thank you all for praying for our trip today.

More on our upcoming journeys as the ministry moves forward to come.

God is good.
All the time.

Today's adventure is underway.

Please pray for us as we go to church over in Yuma and return home.

We are praising the Lord today.

We have gotten my (Lou's)dad agreeable to go to church with us on Sunday.

Anyone who's been watching my personal page knows that we have been doing worship and Bible study with Dad at home for a year. He's refused to go into a church for Sunday or Wednesday services for about 4 years now.

We will be going over to Faith Baptist Church in Yuma. We know one of their interim pastors and know it will be a good service. Dad is comfortable with the idea of going to a small church where there might be family and friends from times past. (Our family roots run deep in the area.)

This is a milestone in all that that's been going on for the last few years. And it's a blessing to all of us as we are finalizing ministry changes and planning for the future.

We are all excited for this Sunday, and the potential/possibilities that may come with it.

Please pray for us as we take this adventure. It's an hour drive each way and Dad still struggles with the longer day trips.

Please pray with us also that this re-opens the door on his willingness to try church attendance again.

We will share our day with you as we can on Sunday.

Thank you for your prayers. We hope to see some of you there.

Have a blessed evening in the Lord.
