Eight of the Ten Commandments tell you what *not* to do. Only two tell you to do something, and this week's commandment is one of them. What it tells you to do is stop. Most of us met this one as a rule about Sunday, but it's an invitation, and it's the longest of the ten - like whoever wrote it knew we'd talk ourselves out of it. Which we do. The corn doesn't care. The shift doesn't care. The grading pile doesn't care. So, honestly: what do you think would happen if you stopped? Tomorrow, 10 AM.

Do not take the Lord's name in vain.' Most of us were taught that means 'don't cuss.' But of the Ten, only two come with a warning attached - and this is one of them. Which is strange, for a rule about vocabulary. Whatever this one is protecting, God takes it personally. It has less to do with what comes out of your mouth than with what you carry out your front door. And this is the week for it - students go back Monday. Tomorrow we're praying for everyone headed into a school this year.

Picture the golden calf. Something enormous, right? Gold, gleaming, big enough for a nation to dance around. Archaeologists have dug up the kind of thing that story describes β€” bronze bulls, right period, right place. **They're the size of a paperweight.** Which is unsettling, because we've all been scanning our lives for something *huge* that's taken God's place, coming up empty, and feeling pretty good about it. But small? Portable? Something that fits in a pocket or a schedule? That we've got. Tomorrow: the second of the Ten Words. Sundays 10 AM, come as you are. πŸ”₯🌱

Step outside at 4:45 tomorrow and listen β€” birds singing while it's still too dark to see them. You know what's alive in that field because the song gives it away. People work the same way: there's one piece of evidence of a flourishing life that can't be faked β€” and it doesn't wait for circumstances to improve. Some people sing at midnight. Tomorrow we name why, and we finish FLOURISH by gathering all seven weeks into one portrait. Sunday 10 AM, come as you are. β˜€οΈπŸŒ±

You can wire apples onto a dead branch - from a distance it looks great, but nobody's fed. That's most of us chasing patience and peace: grit your teeth, try harder, quit by Thursday. Fruit is never manufactured - it's grown. A branch doesn't strain; it stays connected. Tomorrow: why 'try harder' was never the assignment. You can't grow the fruit - stay on the Vine. Sundays 10 AM, come as you are. 🍎🌱

Gardeners know a secret: tomatoes grow better next to basil. Corn, beans, and squash are old friends. Nothing in a garden flourishes alone. Neither do you. And out here, where you can wave at everybody and still be lonely, that's worth an hour on a Sunday.

Tomorrow: Companion Planting, people edition. The first thing in the entire Bible God ever called "not good" was a human being by himself. Zion Congregational Church Β· **Sundays 10 AM** Β· come as you are. πŸ…πŸŒ±

Happy 4th, Sterling. πŸŽ†
We've got a code out here, and we're proud of it: cowboy up. Rub some dirt on it. Push through. I'm fine. It works β€” right up until it doesn't.
Since the hailstorms, half the county has a stranger on the roof, because nobody lets a building leak when people they love live inside it. Tomorrow is about the building you actually live in. Your sleep. The checkup you keep putting off. Your walks. And yes β€” your mental health.
Turns out when God calls your body a "temple," it isn't poetry. It's an address. No guilt, no lecture, no gym pitch. Just a freedom-weekend truth worth hearing with the leftovers still good: free people take care of what God lives in.

Some nights the worry wakes you at 3 a.m. doing math that never works out. Out here, money's the thing we lose the most sleep over. Tomorrow's no guilt trip and no pledge drive β€” it's about the oldest lie ('there isn't enough') and the God who still owns the rain. Come unclench your hands. Sundays 10 AM, come as you are. 🌧️🌱

Lesson plans. Diesel engines. Welding beads. Laundry. What if none of it is 'just a job'? Tomorrow, we open the Bible to the day work was invented - before anything went wrong - and ask what your Monday has to do with Eden. Father's Day, too: bring your dad, or come because of him. Sundays 10 AM, come as you are. πŸ› οΈπŸŒ±
