11/12/2020
Ladies, I am sending you this with reluctance and sadness! I have made the very difficult decision to postpone Women in the Word. This was a decision I wrestled with in prayer all day yesterday, and finally decided to postpone last evening.
And I will tell you that my inclination was to go forward! I wanted to have Women in the Word 2020 so badly! The speakers were going to be phenomenal; our worship songs were chosen with such care to bring us closer to our Savior in these trying times, and of course we were going to have fun-filled bags, fantastic door prizes, and scrumptious food! And we were basically done with all the hard work and ready to roll!
To pull the plug on our event Saturday for over 100 women from all over eastern Colorado, was not what I wanted to do. But I specifically asked the Lord to give me a clear word, and late in the afternoon He did. I had such a check in my spirit about forging ahead, and I absolutely could not ignore that, though I will be honest-I wanted to! And so I believe I acted in obedience to His will in this and made the decision to postpone.
Some of you will be sad and disappointed, others relieved, and others will be upset with me. Being obedient and trusting in Jesus, no matter what, is often the hard choice. I had to beat down what I wanted to do, and really listen to what He was telling me, and step out in obedience to please an audience of One! "He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to His name. Psalm 23:3 (NLT)
I have not deposited any of your checks or cash. We are looking at having Women in the Word after the first of the year, but that is up in the air, of course right now. You can email me and let me know what you would like me to do with your check. I can hold on to them if we are able to have the retreat in the next couple of months, or I can shred them, or I can return them to you. I can either hold your cash until the retreat or return it to you. Please email me to let me know which you would prefer.
But do not despair! Though we will not be meeting together as a large group this Saturday, we will be meeting again! And in the meantime, I want us to be in worship and praise and study of His Word. My dear sisters and friends have shared many Scriptures with me and I want to share a couple of them with you.
"And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because He gave us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love." Romans 5:5.
Be enthusiastic to serve the Lord, keeping your passion toward Him burning hot! Radiate with the glow of the Holy Spirit and let Him fill you with excitement as you serve Him. Let this hope burst forth in within you, releasing a continual joy. Don't give up in a time of trouble but commune with God at all times! Romans 12:11-12 TPT
Thank you for your understanding, patience, and endurance, trusting in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in these trying times!
Love in Jesus,
Deb Walker
