This week, we're celebrating the incredible people who make CFNA possible.
CFNA volunteers show up in many meaningful ways - walking alongside refugees and immigrants, providing transportation, tutoring children, supporting sewing classes and childcare, assisting with health and wellness activities, and building relationships with our New American neighbors.
Over the past year, more than 500 volunteers, ranging in age from 7 to 87, have stepped up to make a difference. Together, they have given over 7,500 hours of their time - including more than 230 people who volunteered with us for the very first time!
Our volunteers represent 47 churches and come from communities near and far. We've also been blessed by groups traveling from Chicago, Springfield, Valparaiso, Minneapolis, and Bay City, Michigan to serve alongside us.
These numbers are incredible, but behind every number is a person who chose to show up - someone who gave their time, shared their gifts, built relationships, and helped make it possible for CFNA to continue walking alongside refugees and immigrants as they build new lives in our community.
To every volunteer: thank you. We see you, we appreciate you, and we truly couldn't do what we do without you.
