⚠️ BIBLICAL WARNING TO THE CHURCH
💎“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God…” — 1 John 4:1 (KJV)
‼️Watch out for those that come appealing to sympathy, kindness, love with emotional pitches and pictures of orphans, the hungry, the sick, and poor conditions…
🏫There is a demonic spirit operating throughout the earth that has disguised itself in religious garments. It preys upon the emotions of sincere believers through fear, guilt, pity, and manipulation. It wears the titles of pastor, prophet, evangelist, apostle, teacher, missionary, orphanage director, and ministry leader, yet its fruit reveals another kingdom.
💎This is not the Spirit of Christ.
🏫The Scriptures foretold that many would have “a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof” (2 Timothy 3:5). Jude declared that ungodly men would “turn the grace of our God into lasciviousness” (Jude 4). Peter warned that “through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you” (2 Peter 2:3). Paul warned the Ephesian elders that “grievous wolves” would enter the flock, “not sparing the flock” (Acts 20:29–30).
🧐Notice that Scripture does not merely warn about false doctrine—it also warns about false motives.
⏰The Gospel was never given as a means of financial gain.
🏫It is not biblical, nor is it the order of God, for someone who has no relationship with you, no proven testimony, no accountability, and no fellowship to immediately begin asking for money, gifts, sponsorships, or support. That behavior should awaken spiritual discernment, not emotional sympathy.
💎Our God is a God of divine order.
🏫Before God entrusts a shepherd with sheep, He first proves whether the shepherd loves the Chief Shepherd.
✅Jesus never asked Peter, “Do you love the ministry?” He never asked, “Do you love the people?” Three times He asked, “Lovest thou me?” Only after Peter’s love for Christ was established did Jesus command, “Feed my sheep.” (John 21:15–17)
🚧Notice the words: My sheep.
‼️The flock never belongs to the pastor. It belongs to Christ.
‼️A genuine shepherd serves because he loves Jesus—not because he is pursuing provision.
💎If God truly gives a vision, He also provides the provision according to His will and His timing. Every God-called servant must first learn dependence upon the Lord before looking to the people. Throughout Scripture, God always tested His servants before entrusting them with greater responsibility. The process develops faith, humility, and complete reliance upon Him.
🧐The tragedy today is that many have become spiritual entrepreneurs instead of faithful stewards. Ministry has become a marketplace. Emotional manipulation has replaced conviction. Sympathy has replaced sound doctrine. Titles have replaced character. Platforms have replaced prayer. Crowdfunding has replaced trusting God.
🙌🏽The greatest danger is not merely financial deception—it is that these practices harden people’s hearts toward genuine servants of God and bring reproach upon the precious Name of Jesus Christ and His atoning blood.
‼️This is why discernment is no longer optional.
💎The Church must return to testing every spirit, examining every fruit, and measuring every ministry by the Scriptures—not by titles, emotional stories, social media followers, miracles, or personal claims.
✅Jesus gave us the standard:
🏫“Ye shall know them by their fruits.” (Matthew 7:16)
✅The risen Christ also commended the church at Ephesus:
“Thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars.” (Revelation 2:2)
✅The Holy Ghost never rebuked them for testing ministers. He commended them for it.
‼️Church, awaken!
💎Love without discernment becomes deception.
💎Compassion without wisdom becomes exploitation.
💎Giving without the leading of the Holy Ghost becomes manipulation.
🏫Stand in truth. Walk in love. Exercise discernment. Honor faithful servants, but never surrender biblical discernment for emotional appeals.
🙌🏽Christ is still building His Church through truth, holiness, obedience, and the power of the Holy Ghost—not through manipulation, merchandise, or emotional control.
⏰“Let all things be done decently and in order.” (1 Corinthians 14:40 KJV)
