WEDNESDAY
The Well That Never Runs Dry

After telling her every well runs dry, Jesus offered her a different kind of water. 'but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life' (John 4:14, LSB). Never thirst. Not a drink you keep coming back for, but a well that springs up inside you and doesn't quit. That's the offer. That's the whole gospel in a cup of water.
Let me tell you why this verse means what it means to me. For years my well was the bottle. I drank to fill something, and it never filled a thing, it just dug the hole deeper. And what finally set me free wasn't white-knuckling it or finding a better version of the same empty water. It was Jesus putting something in me that the bottle never could. A well that springs up. I'm sober today not because I found more willpower, but because I finally drank from the only water that actually satisfies. The old well left me dry every single time. This One never has.
Whatever you named yesterday, hear this today. You will not fix a dry well by drinking harder from it. You get free by coming to Jesus and drinking something else entirely. He doesn't just take the old thirst away, He puts a spring inside you that keeps on giving life. So this week, bring Him the empty cup. Ask Him for the living water. Trade the well that's killing you for the One that springs up to eternal life. I did, and I'm telling you from the other side of it, He keeps His word. God's got you. Period.

Prayer
Father, thank You that You didn't just tell me to try harder at an empty well. You put living water in me that the old thing never could. Thank You for freedom I couldn't manufacture on my own. For anybody reading this who is bone dry, put the spring in them too. In Jesus' name, amen.

📣 Today's Declaration
I don't need more of the water that leaves me empty. Jesus put a well in me that never runs dry.

TUESDAY
Thirsty Again

Jesus looked at a woman holding a water jar and told her the truest thing about every one of us. 'Jesus answered and said to her, Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again' (John 4:13, LSB). Everyone. Drink it and you'll be thirsty again by afternoon. He was talking about well water, sure. But He was talking about a whole lot more than that.
Because we've all got our wells. The thing we keep going back to, hoping this time it'll finally fill us up. For some it's the bottle. For some it's the scroll, the screen, the next thing to buy, the next person's approval. I know this one personally. I spent years going back to a well that never once filled me. I'd drink deep and be bone dry again within the hour, and my answer was always the same, go back and drink more. That's what spiritual dehydration looks like. You keep drinking and you keep thirsting, and you never stop to ask if the well itself is the problem.
Here's the hard, honest question for this week. What's your well? What do you keep going back to that leaves you just as empty as before? Name it. Don't dress it up, don't excuse it, just name the thing you've been drinking that never satisfies. You can't trade it for something better until you're honest that it's running you dry. Everyone who drinks of that water will thirst again. Jesus is about to offer you something that won't. God's got you. Period.

Prayer
Father, I've got wells I keep going back to that leave me empty every time. Give me the honesty to name mine this week instead of pretending it's working. Thank You that You don't leave me there. Get me ready for the water that actually satisfies. In Jesus' name, amen.

📣 Today's Declaration
I'm done pretending the old well works. It leaves me dry every time.

MONDAY
He Comes to You

Jesus was worn out. Dusty, tired, done in from a long walk. And this is where we find Him. 'So Jesus, being wearied from His journey, was sitting thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour. A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, Give Me a drink' (John 4:6-7, LSB). The sixth hour. High noon. The hottest part of the day, when nobody with a choice goes to haul water. She came then on purpose, to avoid people. And Jesus was already sitting there, waiting.
Think about who she was dodging. This was a woman with a reputation, and she had arranged her whole day around not being seen. So she picks the loneliest hour, and the one person she runs into is the Son of God, sitting at her well like He had the time blocked off. Because He did. He didn't bump into her. He was waiting for her. That's how God works. He meets you right in the middle of the ordinary errand, on the loneliest part of your day, in the spot you picked because you didn't want to be noticed.
Here's what that means for you this week. You don't have to climb up to God. He already came down to you. He's not waiting at the end of some long road you have to walk first. He's sitting at your well, right in your Tuesday, right in your kitchen, right in the quiet you've been avoiding. So this week, stop running your day around not being seen. Go to the well and talk to the One who is already there. He's been waiting for you. God's got you. Period.

Prayer
Father, thank You that You don't wait at the top of a mountain for me to climb. You came down and sat at my well. Meet me this week in the ordinary and the lonely parts of my day. Help me quit hiding and come talk to You. In Jesus' name, amen.

📣 Today's Declaration
I don't have to climb to God. He's already sitting at my well, waiting.

SATURDAY
Work With Integrity

Most of your week isn't spent in church. It's spent working. And God cares deeply about how you do it. 'Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men' (Colossians 3:23, LSB). Whatever you do. The big jobs and the boring ones. Paul says do it heartily, with your whole self, and here's the game changer, do it for the Lord, not just for the boss.
That one shift changes everything about a Monday. When you work for men, you do just enough to not get caught, you cut the corner when nobody's around, you coast when the boss steps out. But when you work for the Lord, there's no such thing as nobody looking. He's always in the room. Your integrity on the job, the honest hours, the thing done right when it would be easier to fake it, that isn't just a good work ethic. That's worship.
I spend my days in safety, and I'll tell you, the shortcut almost always costs more than it ever saves, and somebody's usually watching even when you think they're not. So this week, do your work like God is your real boss, because He is. Do the honest thing when cutting the corner would be easier and no one would know. Work heartily. Work clean. Make your work an offering. God's got you. Period.

Prayer
Father, You see every hour I work, even the ones nobody else sees. Help me work heartily this week, as for You and not just for a paycheck or a boss. Let my integrity on the job be an offering back to You. In Jesus' name, amen.

📣 Today's Declaration
There's no such thing as nobody looking. I work for the Lord, so I work clean.

THURSDAY
Care for the Vulnerable

A lot of folks say they're religious. James tells us what the real thing actually looks like. 'Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world' (James 1:27, LSB). Notice he didn't measure religion by how much you know or how good you sound. He measured it by who you take care of.
Orphans and widows were the people in James's day who had nobody. No safety net, no voice, easy to forget. Every town still has them. The elderly widow nobody visits. The kid who's basically raising himself. The person who can't pay you back and can't do a single thing for you. God pays close attention to how we treat the people who can't do anything for us. That's where real faith shows up.
Here's the beautiful part. Caring for the vulnerable isn't complicated. It's a visit. A phone call. A meal. Sitting with somebody in their trouble so they're not alone in it. So this week, find one person the world overlooks and show up for them. Don't wait to be asked. Real religion doesn't wait for a program. It just goes. God's got you, and He's watching how you carry the ones who can't carry themselves. Period.

Prayer
Father, keep my faith from being all talk. Show me the forgotten person this week, the widow, the struggling kid, the one who can't do a thing for me, and help me show up. Let my religion be the real kind, the kind that visits and cares. In Jesus' name, amen.

📣 Today's Declaration
Real faith shows up for the people who can't do anything for me.

WEDNESDAY
Love Your Neighbor

Right after telling us to love God first, Jesus kept going. 'The second is this, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these' (Mark 12:31, LSB). And your neighbor isn't just the person whose yard touches yours. It's anybody God puts in front of you. Even the ones who get on your last nerve. Even the ones who see the world completely different than you do.
Couple years back I had a coworker who was about ready to give up. On the job, on himself, maybe on more than that. I could've minded my own business. Instead I started talking to him about God, pointed him to the Bible, told him to just start a conversation with the Lord and not quit. That man is still going strong today. I didn't fix him. I didn't have the perfect words. I just loved a neighbor who happened to be standing next to me at work, and God did the rest.
That's the thing about loving your neighbor. It's rarely some grand gesture. It's showing up for the person right in front of you, especially when it would be easier not to. So this week, love the neighbor you'd normally overlook. The difficult one. The one who stepped on your toes. You don't have to agree with somebody to love them the way Jesus loves you. Go love one hard-to-love neighbor on purpose. God's got you. Period.

Prayer
Father, it's easy to love the people who are easy. Give me Your heart for the ones who aren't. Help me see the person in front of me as a neighbor to love, not a problem to avoid. Use me this week the way You used me with that coworker, just willing. In Jesus' name, amen.

📣 Today's Declaration
I don't have to agree with someone to love them the way Jesus loves me.

TUESDAY
Go and Tell

Right before Jesus went back to heaven, He left His people a job. 'Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age' (Matthew 28:19-20, LSB). Go. Make disciples. That's not a suggestion for the professionals. It's marching orders for everybody who follows Him.
Now don't let the word 'nations' fool you into thinking this is only for missionaries on the other side of the world. Your nation starts at your own kitchen table. The guy at the job site. The neighbor two doors down. The cashier you see every week. You don't have to cross an ocean to go and tell. You just have to open your mouth right where God already planted you.
And look at how He ends it. 'I am with you always.' He doesn't send you out alone to figure it out. He goes with you. So this week, pick the one person God keeps putting on your heart, and take one step toward telling them about Jesus. A word. An invite. A little of your own story. You're not responsible for the result. You're responsible to go. He handles the rest. God's got you. Period.

Prayer
Father, thank You that You didn't leave me without a mission. Help me quit waiting to feel qualified and just go where You've already put me. Put one person on my heart this week, and give me the nerve to open my mouth. Thank You that You go with me. In Jesus' name, amen.

📣 Today's Declaration
I don't have to cross an ocean to go and tell. My mission field starts right where I am.

MONDAY BIBLE STUDY
Love God First

Read
Matthew 22:37-38 (LSB)
And He said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and foremost commandment.

A little context
Someone tried to test Jesus by asking which commandment was the greatest. He answered with this, loving God with everything, and called it the great and foremost, the one everything else hangs on. To love God with your heart, soul, and mind isn't giving Him a slice of your life. It's giving Him the center of it, and letting the rest get arranged around Him.

Think it over
1. Be honest, what tends to end up first in your day, before God gets any of your attention?
2. What would it look like this week to give God the first word of your day instead of the leftovers?
3. Loving God with heart, soul, and mind is the whole person. Which part is easiest for you to give Him, and which is hardest?

Pray
Ask God to help you put Him first, not in the cracks of your day but at the center. Thank Him that loving Him is the foundation everything else gets built on.

MONDAY
Love God First

Somebody once tried to trap Jesus by asking which commandment was the greatest. He didn't hesitate. 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and foremost commandment' (Matthew 22:37-38, LSB). Great and foremost. Not one item on a long list. The first thing. The thing everything else hangs on.
Here's what I've learned the hard way. When God isn't first, something else is. The spot doesn't stay empty. The schedule fills up, the worries pile on, the phone lights up, and before you know it God's getting the leftovers, a few tired minutes before bed if He gets anything at all. Loving God first isn't about squeezing Him into the cracks. It's about building the day around Him instead of around everything else.
So this week, flip the order. Before the news, before the feed, before the to-do list grabs you, give God the first word. Pray before your feet even hit the floor. Open the Bible before you open your inbox. It doesn't have to be an hour. It has to be first. Put Him at the top and watch how it settles everything underneath. God's got you. Period.

Prayer
Father, too often You get my leftovers, and I'm sorry for that. You are the great and foremost, and I want to love You with all my heart, soul, and mind. Help me give You the first word of my day this week, before anything else gets its hands on me. In Jesus' name, amen.

📣 Today's Declaration
God doesn't get my leftovers. He gets the first and the best of me.
