Westminster is going to N-Sid-Sen Camp & Retreat Center this weekend, so there will be no worship at Westminster on Sunday! But next Sunday, September 20, we celebrate the beginning of the church year!

In May, we celebrated our longtime former pastor, Reverend Andy CastroLang, voting to honor her as Pastor Emerita. We had a joyful service and wonderful recollections of all that Pastor Andy has done for Westminster. We are so grateful to Pastor Andy and to all who make Westminster such a wonderful community! Reminder: this Sunday we will be worshiping in Manito Park by the upper splash pad! If it's very smoky, we will worship at Westminster, so keep an eye out for an email update!

ESG is supplying hot dogs and buns, so be sure to bring a side, snack, or dessert for our Manito potluck barbecue!

to the Apple Blossom Tea! At the end of spring each year, our Joanna Chapter puts on a delightful tea service in our Social Hall in a nod to the tradition of the first Westminster pastor's wife holding tea get-togethers! It's a wonderful occasion each year to drink tea, have delicious snacks, and dress up! Thank you Amy for taking lovely photos!

This Saturday, from 10 AM to 12 PM, join Pastor Bob and members of the Spokane Alliance to knock on doors and make sure people have accurate information on the STA ballot measure. The Spokane Transit Authority is running one of the most efficient transit systems in the country, serving lots of riders, and doing it with admirable fiscal responsibility. Opponents are trying to use this against them. People in Spokane and our region depend on a well-funded public transit system. Westminster's Covenant with the Environment, adopted by a congregational vote in 2022, calls us to mobilize for public transit, among other issues. Reliable public transit is safer, healthier, and more cost-effective than continued car-centric development.

Jesus was a pedestrian. Mark 11:1-3 shows Jesus having to "borrow" a donkey to get into Jerusalem. If he were alive today, he'd be on the bus!
