Take a moment this weekend to stop by The Windfall on South Perry. While there are always new finds of clothing or treasures, they have a new mural on top of new paint from earlier in the summer.
The Windfall Thrift Store is a volunteer-run ministry of St. John's Cathedral, started over 60 years ago to support the needs of the community both in what is offered for sale at very reasonable prices and in proceeds going to agencies in the neighborhood and broader Spokane.

As public schools in our region start school today, we pray for students, faculty, and staff, as well as parents & guardians:

O Eternal God, bless all schools, colleges, and universities, that they may be lively centers for sound learning, new discovery, and the pursuit of wisdom; and grant that those who teach and those who learn may find you to be the source of all truth; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

God our Father, you see your children growing up in an unsteady and confusing world: Show them that your ways give more life than the ways of the world, and that following you is better than chasing after selfish goals. Help them to take failure, not as a measure of their worth, but as a chance for a new start. Give them strength to hold their faith in you, and to keep alive their joy in your creation; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

(Book of Common Prayer, #31, p. 824; #47, p. 829)

School supplies for Shaw Middle School, blessed on Sunday.
