It was wonderful to be with the saints of King Of Glory Lutheran Church in Boise this morning for Feast of creation in Christ Sunday. KOG was served by interim pastor Mark Galbraith who just took another interim in California. Pastor John Hergert will soon be here as the bridge Pastor as the congregation continues through the call process. I stayed for a special meeting after worship during which they voted to pay off their mortgage. Musician KJ fit contemporary Christian music to each piece of the traditional liturgy. Loved it! - Bishop Meggan

Churches in the NWIM Synod may have celebrated the new Feast of Creation or Feast of Creation in Christ last Sunday, or are preparing to celebrate it tomorrow. I will be preaching and presiding for Feast of Creation in Christ at King Of Glory in Boise. You might enjoy reading this interview about how the new feast day came about. As usual, I am celebrating the ecumenical nature of the story. Plus the interviewer and interviewee made me laugh towards the end. - Bp Meggan

“The Feast of Creation in Christ names our need to celebrate God’s saving work in creation,” says liturgical theologian Kimberly Belcher, “and to do so...

This article by Jacob Sorenson spells out why and how every congregation in our synod (no matter the size or place) can do faith formation well-because every congregation I have visited has loving adults who can pass along the Christian faith and every congregation is part of a constellation of faith formation partners. - Bp Manlove

Rededication of Star Valley United Church in SW Wyoming. This congregation started as a joint, PCUSA and ELCA Congregation just over 25 years ago. Long ago, the building was a church but for many years, including when Star Valley United started, it was an office building. A gift from a member who died allowed the church to build a platform, purchase a baby grand piano, and uncover the vaulted ceiling. It was an honor to preach this morning for the rededication service. Wyoming PresbyterJeromey Howard presided at the table. The congregation is currently served by Methodist Pastor, Stephen Bibb. We woke up to rain but after worship and a potluck, the sun came out and I got in a little hike before hitting the road. Last night Pastor Tim drove down to Alpine and we caught up over dinner. The Holy Spirit is working through the congregations of the Upper Snake River Cluster.
