Thankful people all have this in common.

If you have a bitter attitude toward someone, pray for them. God may not change them, but He will change you.

YOU'RE NOT TRAPPED. YOU'RE EXACTLY WHERE GOD WANTS YOU.

As believers today, we're guided by the Spirit of the living God.

But too often we look right past His presence to see how big and scary our enemy is, our sin, and our trials.

So we miss the truth that He's leading us and guiding us right through it.

Think of the Israelites. They thought they were trapped, the sea on one side and the Egyptians closing in on the other.

But God Himself had led them to that exact spot. They weren't trapped; they were exactly where He wanted them, so He could display His glory and His power.

So if God led you to where you are today, you're not trapped.

You're exactly where He wants you.

WHAT REPENTANCE ACTUALLY MEANS (IT'S NOT WHAT MOST PEOPLE THINK)

A lot of us think repentance is a one-time feeling, a moment of guilt that comes and goes. But it's bigger than a feeling. It's a direction.

Maybe you've pictured it like this: walking toward sin, then toward God, then back toward sin, then back again. Back and forth, over and over.

But that's not what repentance is. Repentance is a change of mind that leads to a consistent change of direction.

It sounds like this: "I used to love this, and now I hate this."

And once our mind changes, our feet follow. We turn away from sin and we start walking toward God in a new, consistent direction.

Now, will we still sin? Yes. We'll stumble, and it'll affect us, and we'll take some steps back.

But we don't stay there. We confess our sins, because the Lord "is faithful and just" to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

So we get back up, and we keep walking toward God again. We confess, He forgives, and we keep moving in the same direction.
