Please join us in congratulating junior Robert Schmid, who recently earned the rank of Eagle Scout! Eagle is the highest rank attainable by a Scout, taking many years to complete.

Robert joined Pack 584 at St. Anthony de Padua Parish when he was six years old. He’s been involved in Scouting ever since, has held various leadership positions within his troop and was elected to Order of the Arrow, Scouting’s National Honor Society. Robert has also been invited to continue in Scouting as an Assistant Scoutmaster.

As part of earning the Eagle Scout rank, Robert partnered with Potato Creek State Park. Robert led a group to design, build and install a series of Solitary Bee Houses in the park. He also created educational materials regarding bees, which is on display in the park’s nature center. Robert chose the project because he not only wanted to directly support the preservation of bees which are critical to the world’s food supply, but he also wanted to inspire others to do the same.
