St. Joe Parish

St. Joe Parish We are a vibrant, welcoming Roman Catholic parish with worship, service, and education at our core. Initially called St. Edward F. Today, St. St.

Saint Joseph is South Bend’s oldest Catholic worshipping community. Alexis Chapel, it was established by Rev. Sorin, CSC, as a mission chapel of Notre Dame. The first little building, which was both chapel and school, was erected in 1853 in the community of Lowell, at what is now the intersection of Hill and LaSalle. Joseph Church is still led by the religious of the Congregation of Holy Cross. It

is a vibrant faith community with vast opportunities for prayer, service, faith formation, and fellowship. Joseph's most important ministry is the parish's grade school, founded in 1854. It is one of the most beloved and respected educational institutions in the community.

Just one week left to purchase tickets for our Garden Party Auction taking place May 1, at Morris Park Country Club! Ticket sales end Friday, April 24: https://www.stjosephgradeschool.com/auction

This year’s auction theme – "Saint Joseph Garden Party" – reminds us of our call to steward our garden full of budding young hearts and minds. When we gather together to raise funds, we aren't just "buying items" or "attending an event." We are providing the "water and light" our students need to thrive.

The proceeds from this auction directly impact the daily lives of our students and teachers. The funds help us invest in new curriculum, enhance our fine and performing arts programs, improve our resource and intervention spaces, and support our dedicated faculty in their continuing education.

Whether you are donating an item, bidding on a basket, or joining us for the evening, you are helping to ensure that our garden continues to be a place where children grow in the knowledge of God's love and the skills they need to serve the world. Thank your generosity this year.
