Smyrna First United Methodist Church Established over 170 years ago, we are committed to leading with Jesus and loving the person in front of us.

Established over 170 years ago we continue to grow in our love for God and in our love for one another. That is why we have chosen as our theme, “Loving one another to Christ”, and is based on I John 3: 11-18 and 4:7-12. It is out of that love that comes from God’s heart to our own that motivates us to go to the world in mission and in ministry to proclaim His love to all people. Every member of o

ur congregation is encouraged to grow in discipleship as we believe the closer we come to the heart of God, the more we grow in our understanding of how much we are loved by God and we are to love all people. We invite you to explore our church and learn about our ministries as they have been born out of the compassion God gives us and we share with the world.

Sunday Celebrations:

Happy Labor Day Weekend everyone! Even with the holiday, we were so excited to see so many smiling faces at church this morning! We are praying for all those who are currently traveling and hope you are having a lovely time!

Today, we focused on the verse, “where two or more gather in My name, I am there with them” from the Gospel of Matthew! Both Rev. Susan and Rev. Kathryn brought The Word this morning! We also started September off with communion!

If you were unable to attend church this morning, we encourage you to watch it online!!! The messages were filled with such great advice on how handle conflict Biblically!

Sunday Celebrations!
This Sunday we had the pleasure of baptizing sweet baby Jane VanPelt. Seeing baptisms is truly one of the most special parts being apart of a church family!
In Common Foundation we had the pleasure of hearing from Evie Hannover, one of our interns. She did an amazing job with the children’s monument as well as the morning prayer! Reverend Kathryn also did a wonderful job with the sermon this morning.
Reverends Jono and Susan did a great job in our 9am and 11:15 classic services! It is always great to see what Rev. Jono comes up with in the children’s moment! Rev. Susan’s sermon in the classic services were great!
A special thank you to our choir! Led by Kim Duggins, they are truly using their spiritual gifts to bless our church!

Tonight’s Dinner Church was phenomenal!
Thank you to everyone who worshipped, served, and broke bread with us! Our Dinner Church is a very special ministry here at Smyrna First. It gives an opportunity to connect with those who may not be able to attend a traditional Sunday morning service. We are beyond grateful for the opportunity to disciple people outside of our typical services!

A special thank you to the Tillman House, Julia DeVane, and Rev. Bev for putting this all together! Thank you Reverend Jono for delivering a beautiful sermon! Thank you to our High School Worship Band for the amazing music! Last but not least thank you to Club 4/5 for your servant hearts!
