Now you can download and read Pope Leo XIV's Magnifica Humanitas, the first encyclical of his pontificate. The document was released by the Holy See on May 25, 2026.
The encyclical develops the Churchʼs social teaching in light of artificial intelligence, situating new questions of human dignity, labor, and the common good within the tradition that runs from Rerum Novarum through Centesimus Annus and Laudato Si'.

This week we are visiting St. Francis Parish, a wonderful community tucked away in Sherwood off Highway 99!

- The parish has many activities underway to celebrate the Franciscan Jubilee! The parish prays the St. Francis peace prayer after all Masses, and catechesis on the life and works of St. Francis is included in the bulletins.

- In April, the parish held a special event for the Veneration of the St. Francis Relic, which will happen again in August and October.

- On May 19 the parish is hosting a viewing of the St. Francis Documentary Film at 6 pm, and on June 27 the parish will make a pilgrimage to the other two St. Francis Parishes and the Cathedral.

- Pastor Fr. Amal Irudayaraj will be leading a pilgrimage to Poland, Prague, and Medjugorje in 2027. Previous pilgrimages included Italy and Greece.

- St. Francis Catholic School opened in 2004 and has grown since! Plans for expansion are underway thorough a capital campaign.

- The PreK to 8th Grade school includes Weekly Mass, Before and After School Care, Integrated Technology Curriculum, and a wide variety of ancillary classes and extracurricular activities.

- Catch our interview with Principal Denise Gonzalez on the Morning Blend!
