Did you know it's the International Day of Charity?

We believe in practicing charitable giving year-round. Through events like our Soup Cook-Off, bake sales, Fourth of July breakfast sandwich fundraiser, annual Noodle Dinner, and more, we raise funds to support our missions and make a difference in the lives of others.

Our 2026 mission partners are Hands of Hope, serving our local community, and International Disaster Emergency Service (IDES), providing help around the world. We are also acting as a collection point for Good Samaritan Network's Giving Challenge this August through October.

There are many ways you can celebrate International Day of Charity too! Volunteer in your community, donate funds or needed items to local food banks and shelters, or simply help spread awareness about the causes you care about.

Every act of kindness makes a difference! ❤️

Are you wondering where YOU could fit in at Sheridan First Christian Church?

Sheridan First Christian Church is inclusive of all, embracing in ever-widening circles that begin with God. We welcome and extend our love to all races, genders and abilities. We believe that there are a variety of gifts from the Holy Spirit that come together in the weaving of the tapestry that forms the congregation and the church.

Our worship service is casual and friendly, warm and inviting. There so many opportunities to get involved, whether it's through Children's Worship, serving on committees, participating in Sunday Worship, volunteering, attending events or simply being an active part of the community, we'd love to have you! ❤️

We support Mama's Cupboard, Inc., our local food pantry, with in-kind donations on the third Sunday of each month. September's needs are chili beans, baked beans, and instant potatoes. Items can be brought to Sheridan First Christian Church or donated directly to Mama's Cupboard.

Mama's Cupboard is located at 101 E 2nd Street, Sheridan, IN. Drop off hours are on Mondays and Fridays from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. or you can utilize the drop box outside of the building at any time.

Any and all support is appreciated!

Sheridan First Christian Church is proud to serve as a collection point for the Good Samaritan Network of Hamilton County's Giving Challenge.

We’re collecting NEW clothing for ages 6 through teens and NEW toys for all ages.

📅 August 1 – October 31
📍 First Christian Church, 107 W. 3rd Street in Sheridan
🕘 Monday–Friday, 9 A.M. - 12 P.M., or whenever the church is open

Please enter through the middle blue door of the Education Center and turn right. Our collection area also accepts used bras, eyeglasses, hearing aids, mobile phones, shoes and soda can tabs. We distribute these items to charities that get them to those in need.

Non-perishable food donations can be dropped off at Mama's Cupboard, Inc., 101 E. 2nd Street, using the donation trunk outside the Main Street entrance.

All donated items will be transported to the Fishers Good Samaritan Network warehouse to help meet local needs during a time when in-kind donations are down. Help us fill the need!

Joining one of our committees is another way to participate in our church community!

🚧 Projects Team: Responsible for maintaining the property, including painting and repairing the building
🙏 Prayer Team: Chooses devotionals for Lent and Advent and determines how to recognize special dates such as Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and Veterans Day
🫂 People Team: Leads efforts to support local and global missions, packs food for IDES, and makes and sells duck cookies at August’s Jeep Invasion and breakfast sandwiches on July 4th

Falls are common, but preventable! Join us for an informative Fall Prevention Workshop sponsored by the Disciples Women of Sheridan First Christian Church.

📍 Fellowship Hall at Sheridan First Christian Church, 107 W 3rd Street, Sheridan, IN (an accessible location)

Learn from Hamilton County health educator Jim Ginder, EMS personnel, and therapists!

This workshop is tailored to the needs of older adults and caregivers and will cover:
• Risk factors and common fall hazards
• The importance of maximizing vision & hearing
• How to keep muscles and bones strong
• Ways to keep moving safely
• Tools that can increase independence
• How to access a free, in-home falls risk assessment
• How emergency medical services can help
• How to safely get off the floor if uninjured, or how to help someone else

Light refreshments will be served. Come learn practical ways to stay safe, strong, active and independent!
