Anoche, más de cincuenta hombres se reunieron para comenzar a prepararse para el Retiro de Emaús de Hombres de marzo de 2027.

Nuestro nuevo director espiritual, el diácono Jacob Suárez, nos recordó algo muy profundo: Los hombres que llegarán a este retiro tienen hambre, no de las cosas del mundo, sino de las cosas de Dios. Están buscando algo más profundo, algo que solo Jesús puede darles.

Durante toda la noche, se podía sentir el entusiasmo, la entrega y la generosidad de estos cincuenta hombres. Cada uno desea servir con fidelidad y amor, ayudando a los caminantes a encontrarse con Cristo vivo durante su retiro.

¡Qué hermoso testimonio de fe, fraternidad y corazones dispuestos a servir! ❤️

Last night, more than fifty men gathered to begin preparing for the March 2027 Men’s Emaús Retreat.

Our new spiritual director, Deacon Jacob Suárez, offered a powerful reminder: The men who will come to this retreat are hungry—not for the things of this world, but for the things of God. They are searching for something deeper, something only Jesus can give.

Throughout the evening, you could sense the enthusiasm, dedication, and generous hearts of these fifty men. Each one desires to serve faithfully and lovingly, helping the caminantes encounter the living Christ during their retreat.

What a beautiful witness of faith, brotherhood, and hearts ready to serve! ❤️

Noticias de los Grupos Pequeños

Con mucha alegría y gratitud terminamos nuestro libro Confianza. Ha sido una bendición compartir cada clase, escuchar diferentes experiencias, reflexionar sobre la Palabra de Dios y aprender unos de otros.

Más que terminar un libro, celebramos todo lo que Dios va sembrando en nuestros corazones a través de estos encuentros. Que nunca nos falten las ganas de aprender, la humildad para crecer y la fe para seguir confiando en sus planes.

Gracias, Señor, por permitirnos caminar juntos y por recordarnos que siempre podemos descansar en tus promesas! 🙏🏻

Small Group Update

With great joy and gratitude, we have completed our Trust book. It has been a blessing to share each class, listen to different experiences, reflect on the Word of God, and learn from one another.

More than just finishing a book, we celebrate all that God continues to plant in our hearts through these gatherings. May we never lose our desire to learn, our humility to grow, or our faith to continue trusting in His plans.

Thank You, Lord, for allowing us to walk this journey together and for reminding us that we can always find rest in Your promises!

Esta mañana fue muy especial para Lulu, ya que comenzó su primer día de servicio como voluntaria de Emaús Health en el hospital.

El diácono Cuu, capellán católico del Southwest Medical Center, recientemente se comunicó con Emaús Health para hacernos una petición especial. Nos preguntó si alguien podría acompañarlo los miércoles por la mañana durante sus visitas a los enfermos.

Aunque el diácono Cuu habla inglés y vietnamita con fluidez, no habla español, y muchos de los pacientes que encuentra son principalmente hispanohablantes.

¡Y aquí es donde entra Lulu!

Lulu, una de las integrantes más recientes de Emaús Health y feligresa de la parroquia de San José en Norman, generosamente se ofreció para servir. Hace poco me compartió que, durante toda su vida, había tenido el deseo de ser voluntaria en un hospital, visitando a los enfermos y llevándoles consuelo, esperanza y cariño.

¡Hoy ese sueño de toda una vida se hizo realidad! ❤️

¡Qué hermoso recordatorio de cómo Dios pone deseos en nuestros corazones y, en su tiempo perfecto, abre las puertas para que podamos servir a los demás!

Gracias, Lulu, por tu corazón generoso y tu disposición para servir. Y gracias, diácono Cuu, por tu fiel ministerio y por abrir las puertas a Emaús Health para participar en esta hermosa misión de llevar el amor y la compasión de Cristo a quienes más lo necesitan.

This morning was a very special one for Lulu, as she began her first day serving as an Emaús Health hospital volunteer!

Deacon Cuu, the Catholic chaplain at Southwest Medical Center, recently reached out to Emaús Health with a special request. He asked whether someone could accompany him on his Wednesday morning visits to patients.

Although Deacon Cuu speaks English and Vietnamese fluently, he does not speak Spanish, and many of the patients he encounters are primarily Spanish-speaking.

And that’s where Lulu comes in!

Lulu, one of the newest members of Emaús Health and a parishioner at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Norman, graciously stepped forward to serve. She recently shared with me that, throughout her life, she had always dreamed of volunteering in a hospital, visiting the sick and bringing them comfort, hope, and compassion.

Today, that lifelong dream became a reality! ❤️

What a beautiful reminder of how God places desires in our hearts and, in His perfect timing, opens doors for us to serve others!

Thank you, Lulu, for your generous heart and willingness to serve. And thank you, Deacon Cuu, for your faithful ministry and for welcoming Emaús Health into this wonderful opportunity to bring Christ’s love and compassion to those who need it most.

May God bless you both and all those you encounter through this beautiful ministry!

Hoy, estos cinco hombres y mujeres de Emaús Oklahoma City visitaron a pacientes en INTEGRIS Baptist Hospital como parte de nuestro ministerio Emaús Health. Con una lista de pacientes proporcionada por el hospital, comenzaron por quienes habían indicado que el español era su único idioma.

¡Hablar español es uno de sus superpoderes! Les permite brindar compañía, conectar de corazón y ofrecer el consuelo de ser escuchados en su propia lengua.

Today, these five men and women of Emaús Oklahoma City visited patients at INTEGRIS Baptist Hospital through our Emaús Health Ministry. Using a patient list provided by the hospital, they began with those who had identified Spanish as their only language.

Speaking Spanish is one of their superpowers! It allows them to offer companionship, connect heart to heart, and bring the comfort of being heard in one’s own language.

Flor González of Little Flower lived the two steps of Emaús Oklahoma City: Step One, a Spirit-filled retreat, followed by Step Two, a yearlong small group that meets weekly.

Today, she is nourishing her discipleship by attending the Women’s Conference at the Catholic Pastoral Center. 🙏

¡Felicidades a nuestras dos nuevas voluntarias de Emaús Health! 🎉

Pas Orozco, de St. James, y Lulu Reyes, de St. Joseph en Norman, completaron hoy la última etapa de su capacitación con INTEGRIS Health al visitar a los pacientes junto al diácono Mickey Reeves.

Se unen a otros nueve voluntarios de Emaús Health que brindan compasión, oración y una presencia de consuelo a los pacientes y sus familias. Gracias a nuestra colaboración con INTEGRIS Southwest Medical Center e INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center, los miembros de Emaús pueden certificarse como voluntarios hospitalarios y poner su fe en acción al cuidar de los demás.

Congratulations to our two newest Emaús Health volunteers! 🎉

Pas Orozco, from St. James, and Lulu Reyes, from St. Joseph in Norman, completed the final step of their INTEGRIS Health training today by making hospital rounds with Deacon Mickey Reeves.

They join nine other Emaús Health volunteers who bring compassion, prayer, and a comforting presence to patients and their families. Through our collaboration with INTEGRIS Southwest Medical Center and INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center, members of Emaús become certified hospital volunteers, putting their faith into action by caring for others.

Thank you, Pas and Lulu, for answering the call to serve and bringing Christ’s love to those who need it! 🙏
