Hello Shawnee!!

Thank you to all who attended church this past Sunday. And for all that did not attend, you missed hearing a great message shared by Brother Vernon Tuhano on the prayer of Jabez:

"OH that Thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that Thine hand might be with me, and that Thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested."
1 Chronicles 4:10.

Always special to hear an elder in the community share what's on his heart for all people. Thank you brother Vern.

Only God can keep you from evil, and for evil not to grieve you. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." Jesus also said in John 14:1, "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me."

You can try work, sports, money, education, family, tribe, casino, alcohol, drugs, s*x, even be a good worker at church, to keep you from evil, and for evil not to grieve you, but only God can do that!

The Bible teaches there is only one way to God the Father, there's only one way of salvation, there is no other way of salvation but through Jesus Christ. Acts 4:12.

If you're sick and tired of being sick and tired, come to Jesus Christ! He's calling you.

Hello Shawnee!

Had the privilege and honor to worship the Lord this past Saturday with Rock Springs Baptist Church near Anadarko celebrating their 152nd year of ministry led by JC Smith and Marvin Delaware. Speakers included Miss Indian Oklahoma Janaya McIntosh, Willie Doyeto, DeWayne Pratt Sr, Thomas Worcester , Wil Brown , and myself. The day was complete with a full course Indian food buffet led by Michelle Timbo-Smith . It was a great Spirit-filled encouraging word day in the Lord! Happy Anniversary Rock Springs!! And God bless you with many more!

Hello Shawnee!

A pastor is to know the state of his flock: Jesus knows! You can come to Jesus any time and he will give you rest. An under-shepherd only knows if the Great Shepherd enables him to know. I see Shawnee clouded and surrounded with storms, as we were Saturday morning. We are afflicted with infirmities of all kinds. My heart grieves and has been in down load mode all this past week. I believe I see because Jesus is allowing me to see from his interccessions. Early in the week the Holy Ghost highlighted Proverbs 18:14 with me:

Proverbs 18:14 The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity, but a wounded spirit who can bear?

The only man who can hold us up enabling us to stand in whatever infirmity we are going through is God's standard of a man, the Son of Man, God in the flesh, Jesus Christ. Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.

Certainly, we have known role model men and women who are stoic, strong-jawed, solid rocks. Some seem to be gifted with internal strength to remain strong and fearless no matter what comes their way. We follow those people.

But even the best of men and women fail. But I want you to know, Jesus Christ will never fail, and he will never leave you, or forsake you. And when our spirit is united with his Spirit, the Holy Spirit will enable us to stand like an upright feather.

If we try to sustain ourselves in our infirmities, trying to heal our wounded spirit on our own, eventually we learn it is too much to bear. Give it all to Jesus, and ask God, How can I glorify God in the infirmity I now find myself to be in? When our ambition is to glorify God no matter what condition we are in, God is pleased with that kind of sacrifice.

Give unto the LORD, O ye mighty, give unto the LORD glory and strength. Give unto the LORD the glory due onto his name. O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

Hello Shawnee!!

When you are not in church, I miss you! I have never seen many of you because you have not returned to the Lord in attending church. I am sure there are many rational reasons for not attending church, but my friends, these are not times to forsake assembling ourselves together in the name of the Lord. It is time to come to the Lord, and he will give you rest.

Yesterday, I was led of the Lord to preach on 1 Timothy 1:11-"According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust."

Paul's point is, sound doctrine is according to "the glorious gospel of the blessed God," in contrast to unsound doctrine that palliates sin. Palliate means to lessen, alleviate, ease sin but never curing the problem.

We live in a world that palliates sin, and it ain't getting any better! The world does not have the answer. The answer is Jesus Christ!! The gospel of Jesus Christ is glorious because Jesus Christ is the cure for the problem of sin through repentance and forgiveness of sin(s) given freely by the grace of God.

Unsound doctrine will lead you to be addicted to tolerating sin, living with sin, doing things to relieve and ease the pain and evil of sin. Sound doctrine according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God will set you free, free indeed.

My questions are, Is the gospel glorious to you? Is God a blessed God to you? Do you personally trust and are you committed to witness and preach "the glorious gospel of the blessed God?" If the gospel has become dry, routine, mundane, and of none effect to you, it's time to repent!

Of course this is a reader's digest version of the message the Lord led me to preach yesterday. But you are never going to hear a full message unless you go to church.

I have gotten to know many of the Lord's pastor's in the Shawnee area, i.e., Bryce Scott in Little Axe, Kellos Walker in Earlsboro, Jerry Gray at Emmaus, Don Akers at Saliteska, Kevin Fox at Karis Ministries, Dr. James Wilder at Wallace Baptist, to name just a few, and I strongly encourage you to attend and serve at any one of them.

Also, you are always welcome at First Indian Baptist Church in Shawnee, Oklahoma. I love you.

Hello Shawnee!

Praise the Lord!!! 76 salvations at Indian Falls Creek and 38 salvations during the PLBA Heaven's Gate and Hell's Flames Drama. Thank you all Shawnee servants at both gospel ministries. Begin praying for next year's events, Lord willing.

Now it's time to get back to work at your home church. Remember, we are all about following peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.

Speaking of seeing the LORD, I want to encourage you with the prophecy of Isaiah 33:17 "Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty," a prophecy given to God's people when they were under siege in their own city Jerusalem by the Assyrians and king Sennacherib.

Does anyone in Shawnee feel held captive within the walls of your city, held captive by evil spirits and Satan? Thus saith the LORD, "Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty."

But we must first see Jesus Christ as God's suffering servant who took our sins upon himself, and shed his blood for us to be washed away from our sins. We must see him as our propitiation, the substitute paying the price for the penalty of our sin (s), our Redeemer! We must be born again!

When Jesus came as the Messiah, he grew up before God as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. (Isa 53:2.) Jesus on the cross was not a beautiful sight, his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men.

Oh but when we receive Jesus Chtist as our personal Saviour and Lord, he enables us to see him as the King in his beauty, and we worship him in the beauty of holiness.

Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of Lord's (1 Tim 6:15).

Now unto the King Eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Are you suffering?

2 Corinthians 1:3-5 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort. Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, SO OUR CONSOLATION ABOUNDETH BY CHRIST.

2 Corinthians 2:14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

Amen!

Exodus 15:3 The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.

Yes, we are at war! I am not talking about war amongst ourselves, nation against nation, i am referring to our spiritual warfare. I want to encourage you my friends, if you are going through suffering of any kind, the first tribe to lead us into battle is the tribe of Judah, the tribe of Praise and Thanksgiving (Judges 1:1-2) lifting up the given banner of Jesus Christ (Psalm 6:4). O clap your hands all ye people, and shout unto God with the voice of triumph. For the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth (Psalm 47:1-2).

Dont wait for someone else to help you. Help yourself by getting on the winning side with and through Jesus Christ, and once you enlist, do not defect. Never Give Up!

Psalm 42:5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul, and why art thou disquieted in me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.

Hello Shawnee!! Happy Father's Day!!!

God is actively restoring the church buildings to full function. With the help of many the external drainage problems of the Church has been resolved, but make no mistake about it, it is God who is bringing people to work together to restore. Praise the Lord!

Now, we must begin repairing/restoring internal walls of the Church. We need your help. We need hands that are willing and able to tear-out, clean, replace drywall, and paint, etc. If you would like to help, please contact me to learn of scheduled work days.

Please continue praying for revival. We all need more, much more, of Jesus. Come to church. These are not days to try making it on your own. It is God who gives repentance to all those who believe and receive him. We all need the manifestation of his life within us.

Hello Shawnee! Things have been quiet at Church: we are involved in restoring church facilities after many years of flooding problems. This past week with the help of the Potowatomi-Lincoln Baptist Association and the Citizens Potawatomi Nation, escavation work was done to address the drainage problem. Physical restoration continues!!

Spiritual restoration continues as well. It has been given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake. This is not a popular calling in the midst of a rich young ruler generation (baby boomers), nevertheless, we do experience suffering, some more severe than others, and our faith is tested. Now the just shall live by faith. That means we Christians are people who believe, trust, and have faith in God at all times regardless of circumstances, and rejoice by faith with joy unspeakable and full of glory, that our faith may be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ. It's all about being ready, and having faith in a faithful God.

Not all men have faith in God through Christ, but those that do must not cast away their confidence. We live in a time where we are surrounded by enemies that work to destroy the church. We need each other. Go to Church. Don't try to stand against the enemy on your own. God Bless You!

Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Good morning Shawnee!

Be sure to come to church this Sunday May 24th: Former Pastor Gary Hawkins will be preaching! You will be blessed! He would love to see you!

Gloria and I are traveling to the Lawrence Kansas area for the memorial day weekend. I have no plans to preach, but we will be in church on Sunday, and I will be ready if called on.
