At Immanuel, we are working to the goal of inspiring, encouraging and equipping parents to be the primary disciplers of their children. Because that's the Biblical model of discipleship. Parents are the primary disciple makers in their children's lives. That doesn't mean that Biblical values are always being passed on, but there's no denying that parents carry the strongest influence over their ki
ds...they simply have the power to shape what their kids love. It's hard work! And sometimes kids choose to reject what's passed on. But what we have observed again and again is that, for the most part, students in high school and college who love Jesus and are committed to Him and His church come from homes where the parents share and model those same priorities. Yes, there are exceptions for good and for bad. But most of the time the faith of a child perfectly mirrors the faith of the parent. Clearly parenting is a difficult job. At Immanuel we don't want to condemn parents or heap on the guilt. We want to encourage them in the hard work of parenting however we can. We believe parents want to be successful in raising kids who love Jesus. It's our desire to help make that happen. Cindi Draper- Children's Minister Nursery & 4th-6th Grade
