DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE?
DAY 2: YOU DON’T NEED A DIFFERENT SITUATION
What if the breakthrough you’ve been praying for begins with a change in perspective?
Think about that for a moment.
How often have we prayed:
“God, change my circumstances!”
“Lord, take this problem away!”
“Father, get me out of this situation!”
But what if God wants to change how we SEE the situation before He changes the situation itself?
In Wednesday night’s message, Pastor Josh Holiday made a statement worth remembering:
“You don’t need a different situation. You just need God to open your eyes.”
In 2 Kings 6, Elisha’s servant could see the enemy surrounding the city. What he couldn’t see was the heavenly army already surrounding Elisha.
So Elisha prayed.
📖 “LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” — 2 Kings 6:17 (NKJV)
Notice something important.
Elisha didn’t ask God to remove the enemy.
He asked God to open his servant’s eyes!
And suddenly, the servant could see what had been hidden from his natural sight.
The mountains were filled with horses and chariots of fire!
The enemy was still there, but now the servant could see that God’s power was greater.
Isn’t that how faith works?
Faith doesn’t require us to deny our problems. Faith reminds us that our problems don’t have the final word.
Sometimes we become so focused on what’s wrong that we lose sight of who God is.
And when our focus stays on fear, our thoughts, words, and actions begin reflecting that fear.
But Romans 12:2 reminds us that transformation comes through the renewing of our minds.
Maybe it’s time to stop rehearsing everything that could go wrong and start remembering everything God has already brought us through.
That doesn’t mean pretending everything is fine.
It means choosing to trust God even when everything isn’t fine.
🙏 TODAY’S PRAYER:
Lord, open my eyes! Help me recognize where fear, discouragement, and negative thinking have shaped my perspective. Renew my mind through Your Word. Teach me to see my circumstances through the truth of who You are rather than through the limitations of what I can see. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
💭 TODAY’S REFLECTION:
What situation in your life have you been asking God to change?
Today, try praying something different:
“Lord, before You change what’s around me, change what I’m seeing within me.”
There is more to the picture than what you can see!
