This Sunday at 11:00 am as we conclude our three-part sermon on the third warning passage in Hebrews. Hebrews 6:9-20 turns from the sobering warning of verses 4-8 to words of encouragement and hope. The author is confident of better things for these believers and he gives them several reasons to keep growing.

Our hope isn't based on wishful thinking. God has given us His promise and a hope that is "an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast."

If you are going through a difficult season, don't give up.
If you are growing, keep growing.
If you are tempted to drift, hold fast.

Have you ever prayed and wondered if God was listening? Jesus encouraged His disciples to pray continually and not lose heart (Luke 18:1). God's timing is always perfect, even when His answers don't seem to come as quickly as we would like.

If you are seeking hope, don't give up. God's greatest answer is found in His Son, Jesus Christ. He calls us to repent, believe the Gospel, and follow Him.

Our culture often treats growing older as something to hide, fear, or overcome. Scripture paints a very different picture.

"The silver-haired head is a crown of glory, if it is found in the way of righteousness" (Proverbs 16:31).

Every gray hair represents lessons learned, prayers prayed, trials endured, and God's faithfulness through the years. The church needs the wisdom, faithfulness, and life experience of those who have walked with Christ for many years. Younger believers need older believers who will invest in them, encourage them, and point them to God's Word.

If you are one of those seasoned saints, don't believe the lie that your best years of serving the Lord are behind you. God still has work for you to do.

If you are younger, seek out those who have faithfully walked with Christ. Their wisdom is a gift from God.

Keep Growing: Don't Fall Away

This Sunday at Hope Church, we continue our three-part journey through the third warning passage in Hebrews. Last week, we saw the danger of spiritual immaturity. This week, Hebrews gives us an even more sobering warning.

What happens when someone who has experienced the blessings of God's grace turns away? Hebrews 6:4-8 gives us one of the strongest warnings in all of Scripture; one we dare not ignore.

This isn't a passage to casually explain away. It's a passage that calls us to examine ourselves, take our faith seriously, and keep growing.

Everyone carries burdens. The question is, where will you take them? God doesn't promise an easy life, but He does invite His people to cast their cares upon Him because He truly cares for them (1 Peter 5:7). There is no burden too heavy for the Lord to bear.

If you've never turned to Christ, the greatest burden you carry is the burden of your sin. Jesus calls sinners to repent and believe the Gospel, offering forgiveness and the hope of eternal life.

This Sunday at Hope Church, we begin a three-part look at one of the most sobering warning passages in Hebrews. The writer of Hebrews wanted to teach his readers deeper truths about Jesus, but there was a problem: they weren't maturing spiritually. They weren't growing.

They had been Christians long enough that they should have been able to teach others about Jesus Christ, but they still needed to be taught the basics.

Spiritual immaturity isn't harmless. If we never grow up, we become vulnerable to spiritual danger. So, the question isn't merely, "Have you been saved?" It is also, "Are you growing?"

There are moments when life leaves us without words. Sometimes we don't even know how to pray. What a comfort to know that God understands our weakness. Even when our prayers are imperfect, our Heavenly Father is not distant or indifferent. He knows our hearts and is faithful to His children.

The Bible says: "For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us..."

If you're carrying burdens you've never brought to God, today is a good day to turn to Him. The invitation of the Gospel is still the same: repent and believe in Jesus Christ.
