Pentecost, what many call the birthday of the Christian Church, Pentecost is the holy disruption of God’s Spirit breaking barriers, crossing languages, and reminding us that nobody is outside the reach of love. It is the fire of liberation falling on ordinary people, empowering communities pushed to the margins to rise, speak, dream, and live boldly together.

Pastor Jermell was honored, yesterday to stand as a clergy representative of Seattle and Admiral United Church of Christ at the press conference led by Bob Ferguson and Nick Brown, announcing a lawsuit against The GEO Group. This action raises serious concerns about accountability and oversight at the Northwest ICE Processing Center, formerly known as the Northwest Detention Center.

As people of faith, we affirm that dignity, safety, and humane treatment are sacred rights. No corporation or institution entrusted with human lives should be exempt from health inspections, transparency, or responsibility for addressing violence and harm within its walls.

This is not only a legal issue, it is a moral issue. It is a faith issue. And it calls us to stand firmly for justice, human dignity, and the liberation of all people.

Join us this Sunday at Admiral as we honor Earth Sunday, a sacred invitation to reconnect with creation and recommit to its care. Grounded in the spirit of Genesis and the call to stewardship, we’ll gather to celebrate the beauty of the earth, lament the harm it has endured, and renew our responsibility to protect and nurture what has been entrusted to us.

Come expecting reflection, community, and a word that calls us deeper into justice for the land, for our neighbors, and for generations to come. The earth is speaking. Let us be present enough to listen.

All are welcome. 🌿

You’re invited to join us at Admiral for our virtual book study as we journey with God of Becoming and Relationship: The Dynamic Nature of Process Theology by Rabbi Bradley Shavit Artson.

Together, we’ll explore a God who is not distant or fixed, but alive in relationship, constantly becoming with us, through us, and among us. This is a space for curiosity, questions, reflection, and deep spiritual imagination.

You don’t have to have all the answers. You don’t even have to have read every page. Just come as you are, searching, wondering, growing.

We are a radically welcoming community, and there is a place for you in this conversation.

Join us for our virtual book study and step into a wider, more expansive understanding of God, community, and becoming.

Mother’s Day can hold so many meanings. For some, it’s laughter over brunch with Mom. For others, it’s remembering a mother who is no longer here. For some, it’s gratitude for a beautiful relationship, and for others, it’s navigating something more complicated. Some have birthed children. Some have nurtured, guided, protected, and loved in ways that transcend biology.
Some have stepped in as chosen family, as aunties, mentors, elders, sacred mothering presences in the world.

At Admiral, we are celebrating Mother’s Day the week before its traditionally observed date, creating space for deeper reflection, fuller inclusion, and shared community.

This Mothering Sunday, we honor all of it.
We celebrate, we remember, we hold space.
We give thanks for mothers and all who embody the spirit of mothering, in every form it takes.
Join us as we honor, celebrate, and remember together.

What a beautiful and sacred Maundy Thursday we shared together at Admiral UCC. In prayer, in table, and in community, we remembered the depth of love that calls us to serve one another. We are now fully in Holy Week—walking the story, holding the tension, and moving toward resurrection hope.Join us this Sunday for Sunrise Service and again at 10:30 AM as we celebrate together. We are grateful for the reconciling, liberating love of Jesus that continues to draw us closer—to God and to one another.
