Episcopal Young Adults of Western Washington

Episcopal Young Adults of Western Washington For Episcopalians and other interested seekers in the Diocese of Olympia, ages 18 - 40, and the people who support them. Maybe you're one of us, too.

WELCOME to Episcopal Young Adults of Western Washington, a gathering place, a networking hub, a fount of information, and above all, a place where young Episcopalians share their stories and live their faith. The links we provide here are tools to help you in your own faith journey. We are writers, bloggers, doubters, believers, questioners, skeptics, and people who love Jesus. We are involved in

our Episcopal churches and in vital mission and outreach efforts. Some of us have fond memories of growing up in the Episcopal Church, and many of us were involved in HYC, the Episcopal youth program for the Diocese of Olympia. Together we share our stories of doubt and faith, triumph and tragedy, and we dream and create an Episcopal Church that reaches beyond itself to be Christ's hands and heart in the world. We don't all live in Western Washington now, but we all have ties here. If so, welcome! Come join our ongoing conversation and walk in faith with us.

The Fierce Nonviolence Pilgrimage is an 11-day immersion program for young adults wishing to gain experience and training in the spirituality and practices of nonviolent social change. This year, on the 80th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, the immersion will focus on people and places in the Pacific Northwest impacted by the U.S. nuclear arsenal. Following in the lineage of Jesus of Nazareth, Mahatma Gandhi, and Martin Luther King, Jr., the program is rooted in the values of Integral Nonviolence, Community, and Spirituality. Applications are due June 15 and can be found at https://fiercenonviolence.org/2025-pilgrimage/

Tomorrow evening, join Saint Mark’s 20s/30s for a discussion facilitated by Rev. Elizabeth Riley on her recently published book “Rage Prayers.”

Our spirituality is shaped by routines and rites, and in practices like The Peace and the Dismissal, we nurture a spirituality of peace and comfort. What do we do when we are called to anger, as Jesus also was?

Meet at Leffler House on the Saint Mark’s campus at 7:30pm, followed by Compline at 9:30.

Sung at the close of day in Cathedrals and churches throughout the world, Choral Evensong is a service of Evening Prayer, derived from the ancient offices of Vespers and Compline. The choir sings the traditional evening prayers of the church that have been offered for centuries, while the congregation listens, joins in the hymns, and adds their own prayers to those of the choir. Choral Evensong is an opportunity for peaceful meditation in the midst of a busy week.

O God, whose Son Jesus is the good shepherd of your people: Grant that when we hear his voice we may know him who calls us each by name, and follow where he leads; who, with you and the Holy Spirit, lives and reigns, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
