Some of us may remember the days when as a kid and we were asked, “what do you want to be when you grow up”? The question framed that the world was our oyster if only we believed.
And for many, something shifted, and it was as if that idea evaporated. Maybe we were told we had to have certain things, or ook a certain way in order to fulfill our dreams. Then, doubt crept in and took up space where our inner child’s imagination and hope once lived.
In Genesis, God, the Divine Artist created the world by weaving textures and colors together until she said, “this is good”.
God, the Artist, knew that the world canvas could only become complete with the participation of humans, animals and the natural world working together for the common good. And God knew that the earth was abundant and that there was enough for every living creature to thrive and create.
In this portrait, in order for folks to thrive they must be their authentic selves because God blessed all the expressions of love, life and creativity.
We must continue to believe that another world is possible– a world where we are cocreating with the Divine and all creation, a liberated, just and peace-filled world– even in these days when it is difficult to remember.
We are invited to heal those parts that may have been disconnected because of trauma, doubt or fear and reclaim our imagination of what is possible when we lean into hope and love.
This PRIDE we are celebrating that another world is possible and it is here in all our LGBTQIA expressions!
Happy PRIDE, Beloved Community!
