Until Love Is Spoken
Karen Morrolli

Grant us gentleness in power.
Grant us strength to face this hour,
to forgive, to offer grace,
and nurture peace in every place.

Grant us hope when all seems dire.
Grant us faith to spark a fire,
to fiercely burn, to drown the night,
and set the world ablaze with light.

And when we meet resistance
and our call puts us in danger,
grant us patience and persistence
to stand up for friend and stranger.

Grant us courage to be kind.
Grant us singleness of mind
to free the world from hate and fear,
so only love is spoken here.

And when our path of justice
leads us to the dreadful fight,
grant us vigor, and entrust us
with the power to do what’s right.

Grant us courage to be kind.
Grant us singleness of mind
to free the world from hate and fear,
so only love is spoken here.

Check out this article from our volunteer Elyas!

This article demonstrates that Sahan Cares, founded by refugee Anisa Shiil in West London, bridges the gap in culturally appropriate care by offering specialized services to the elderly. The social enterprise achieves dual success by providing high-quality care while recruiting from the local refugee community to lift families out of poverty.

Raising the Pride flag to mark the start of Pride Month!

Highlights of Pride Month at Saint Mark's:

We will be open to all on Saturday, June 27, 1 to 4 p.m. during Capitol Hill PrideFest for anyone who wants to sit, cool off, hydrate, and rest in a calm and quiet space. There will also be refreshments, rainbow crafting, contemplative practices, quiet space for sensory-sensitive folks, kid-friendly activities, and a station to honor q***r ancestors.

We will also have a booth at Capitol Hill PrideFest on Saturday, June 27. Being present at Pride Fest shows people that we are a church where q***r people are welcomed and celebrated. The booth includes information about Saint Mark's, and some fun trinkets for people to take with them.

You can also find Saint Mark's members at Trans Pride Seattle on Friday, June 26, marching in the Pride Parade through downtown Seattle on Sunday, June 28, a booth at Seattle Center PrideFest on Sunday, June 28, and at a special worship service at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Queen Anne.

Wherever you are on your journey of faith, you are welcome at Saint Mark's Cathedral.

Bishop Phil LaBelle issued a pastoral letter concerning Trinity Sunday and our call to be in relationship with others particularly in light of the recent policy decision on Green Card applicants and its impact on our communities. This letter was read in congregations this morning, and is available here:

On this Memorial Day, we commend to the glory of God those who have laid down their lives for their country.

O Judge of the nations, we remember before you with grateful hearts the men and women of our country who in the day of decision ventured much for the liberties we now enjoy. Grant that we may not rest until all the people of this land share in the benefits of true freedom and gladly accept its disciplines. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We pray for the repose of the soul of Juniper Blessing, the 19-year-old trans woman who was murdered in Seattle last week; and we pray for the end of gender-based violence, especially violence against our trans and non-binary siblings.
