TODAY'S SCRIPTURE AND PRAYER
September 16, 2026

Psalm 133:1 - How very good and pleasant it is when kindred live together in unity!

Heavenly Creator, we come before You acknowledging the truth of Psalm 133:1. Lord, You know how much our world, our communities, and our families need the healing balm of harmony. Forgive us for the times we have allowed pride, impatience, or petty disagreements to sow division. Soften our hearts and replace discord with Your profound compassion.

Pour out Your Holy Spirit upon us so that we might walk hand-in-hand in mutual respect and Christ-like love. Bind our hearts together through the bond of peace, making us beacons of Your grace to a fractured world.

May our togetherness bring joy to Your heart and point others toward Your eternal goodness.

Where there is friction, grant us the wisdom to be peacemakers. Where there is misunderstanding, grant us a spirit of humility and forgiveness. As we strive to live in unity, command Your richest blessing—even life forevermore—to rest upon our homes, our churches, and our relationships.

In Jesus' mighty and precious name, we pray. Amen.

Romans 14:19 - Let us then pursue what makes for peace and for mutual edification.

Heavenly Creator, thank You for calling us into Your family. Please be patient with me for the times I have let impatience, selfishness, or a critical spirit get in the way of harmony.

Help me to stop focusing on trivial arguments and instead pursue what leads to genuine peace. Give me your wisdom and grace to build others up.

Energize my heart by Your Spirit so I can be an encouragement to the people around me today.

In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE AND PRAYER

1 Corinthians 1:18 - For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

Heavenly Creator, I praise You because the message of the cross is the ultimate display of Your saving power.

Thank You for sending Jesus to bear our sins and break the power of death.

Help me to trust Your wisdom above the shifting opinions of the world.

Let the transforming power of the cross daily renew my heart, strengthen my faith, and give me strength to share Your grace with others.

In Jesus' mighty name, I pray. Amen.

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE AND PRAYER
September 11, 2026

Psalm 103:8 - The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

Heavenly Father, You are merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love.

Lord, I come to You today with a thankful heart, resting in the truth of who You are as revealed in Psalm 103:8. Thank You for not dealing with me according to my sins, but looking upon me with a compassionate and understanding heart.

When I am prone to impatience and failure, You remain slow to anger, offering me grace, room to breathe, and endless mercy.

Please help me to truly know and experience Your abundant love today. Wash away my shame, quiet my fears, and anchor my spirit in Your unchanging character. Teach me to extend this same mercy, grace, and patience to the people around me, reflecting Your heart in a weary world.

In the name of the Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen.

What's Happening at PoP!

Welcome Rev. Aaron Willett - Our Children, Youth & Family Ministries Director.
Before all else, Aaron is a beloved child of God. Second only to this, Aaron is husband and father. He and his wife, Laura, love the gift and labor of raising their daughters.

Aaron is joining Prince of Peace as Director of Children, Youth, and Family Ministries, where he'll take the lead on Fabulous Fridays, Youth Group, and Sunday School. He is currently completing a transitional pastorate for a congregation in Edmonds, so you may not see him on Sunday mornings until February.

He will be running Fabulous Fridays starting on September 25, so be sure to check in and see him there!

Sunday, September 13, is the 16th Sunday after Pentecost, and our worship day goes as follows:
8:00am - Prayer Ministry in the church library: For folks who want to join together in praying for our church, the local community, and the wider world. All are welcome.
9:15am - Ensemble Practice in the Sanctuary: Do you love to sing? Join us in the Sanctuary every Sunday to practice for singing at the 10:00am worship service.
10:00am - Traditional Worship with Holy Communion in the Sanctuary: this worship service is in person and live streamed on Facebook and YouTube.

This Sunday, we will have a baptism - the FIVE members of the Jones family will be baptized! We're so happy to welcome them into the family of PoP Church! Be with us as we celebrate with and for them!

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE AND PRAYER
September 10, 2026

Genesis 50:19 - But Joseph said to them, ‘Do not be afraid! Am I in the place of God?

Heavenly Creator, Lord, I come to You today holding onto hurts, frustrations, and the wrongs that others have committed against me. When I feel wronged or fearful, help me to remember the words of Joseph and rest in Your ultimate sovereignty.

Be patient with me for the times I have tried to take justice into my own hands, acting as if I were God. Remind me that vengeance and judgment belong to You alone. Give me the grace to let go of bitterness and release the desire to punish those who have hurt me.

Where others intended harm against my life, I choose to trust that You are bigger than their actions. Help me to see how You can redeem pain, turn difficult circumstances around, and weave them into a greater purpose. Remove fear from my heart, grant me the strength to speak kindly, and fill me with Your peace so I can extend true comfort and forgiveness to others.

In Jesus' name, amen.
