What does joy look like when it moves beyond somehting we feel and becomes something others can actually see? Through this week's Scripture, we'll discover a picture of God's Kingdom where generations belong together, celebration matters, and grace becomes visible in the way God's people live, gather, and share life with one another.

We will also share in Holy Communion.

Back Together! - Family Connection Night
Wednesday, September 9 | 5:30–7:15 PM

We’re starting the year by simply coming back together. Kids and youth are invited to come with their parents, guardians for an evening of food, fun, worship, connection, and time to get to know the people we’ll be walking alongside this year.

One of the greatest gifts we have in this ministry is each other. Our kids and youth need people who know them, care about them, encourage them, and help them grow in faith. Parents and families need that kind of connection too.
So, let's connect!

This first night will give us time to reconnect, meet our ministry leaders, have some fun together, worship and pray, and share a little about what our Wednesday nights and the year of ministry ahead will look like for the Vine Kids & Youth.

Parents and guardians, please plan to come with your children and youth and stay for the evening.

Regular Wednesday Vine Kids & Youth gatherings will begin September 16.

At worship we were reminded that God’s provision often asks something of us too: trust enough to participate. When the disciples looked at five loaves and two fish, they could see all the reasons it wasn’t enough.

Jesus didn’t ask them to understand how it would work. He simply said, “Bring them here.” Jesus received what they actually had, blessed it, and provided through it.

Faith doesn’t always mean knowing where the road leads before we take the first step. Sometimes it means recognizing what God has already placed in our hands and simply offering it to Christ.

Tomorrow our Children & Youth Ministry Team will gather to connect, pray, learn, prepare, and begin discerning together what God may be building among our children, youth, families, and church in the year ahead.

Before you decide whether any part of that is for you, pray about it tonight.
What may God be building here, or leading us to become?
Where might I participate in this?

Then give the Spirit room to reveal something, whether that is a call to step forward, a different way to serve, or simply a clearer sense of where God may be calling you to show up faithfully for someone else.

Whether we’ve talked about this directly or not, if you are curious or feel encouraged to explore this with us, come tomorrow. You do not have to know your role, have all the answers, or make a commitment as you walk through the door.

This week in our Season of Play series, we turn to Exodus 16:1–5 and Matthew 14:13–21 and discover a God who meets his people in uncertainty, provides in ways they could not predict, and invites them to trust and participate. What might it look like for us to bring what we have to Jesus, trust his provision, and take the next faithful step together?

Today we had a little fun in our Season of Play series! ✈️💛

We wrote our worries on sheets of paper, folded them into airplanes, and flew them to the front of the church—symbolically giving our worries to God. What a fun reminder that we don’t have to carry everything ourselves!

As you head into this week, cast your worries on the Lord and make a little room for PLAY!

🐦 Watch the birds and remember Matthew 6:26.
💃 Do something silly! Learn a new dance move, tell a joke, or try a new recipe.
🌻 Take a break from scrolling and notice the beauty God has placed all around you.
🛝 Notice the children. What does their freedom and joy in play teach us about the Kingdom of God?

How many times this week have you thought, “I just need to get through today”? School. Work. Practice. Appointments. Dinner. Homework. Another full calendar. Sometimes life starts feeling like one long checklist.

This Sunday, Season of Play brings us "Out of Survival Mode."
Jesus asks in Matthew 6, “Isn’t life more than…?” Then He points us toward the birds, toward God’s care, and toward a life built on trust instead of trying to hold everything together ourselves.

Our worries are real. Our responsibilities are real. But they don’t have to take up all the room. Sometimes a little play, laughter, wonder, or time with people we love can help us loosen our grip, look beyond the worry, and remember that God is still caring for us.

Life is more than just getting through it. Join us Sunday as we keep learning to trust God and receive the life he is giving us right now.
