How does God speak to us today?

In Part 2 of The Voice of the Shepherd, Pastor Jimmy Sandoval explains that God speaks to us primarily through His written Word, revealed fully through Jesus Christ. Through the Holy Spirit, believers can understand and apply God’s truth to their lives.

Not every spiritual claim or personal impression comes from God. We must test everything against Scripture and remain firmly grounded in His Word.

🌧️ **But Even If You Don’t: Trusting God in Hard Times**

What happens when God does not immediately change our circumstances?

In this message from the book of Habakkuk, guest speaker Dr. Frank Benoit teaches us how to find peace in the midst of adversity and continue trusting God when life appears to be falling apart.

Habakkuk looked at the violence, injustice, corruption, and suffering surrounding him and asked, “Why, God?” God answered that He was already working—but His plan was not what Habakkuk expected.

By the end of the book, Habakkuk’s circumstances had not improved. The fig tree did not blossom, the vines produced no fruit, the fields yielded no food, and the livestock were gone. Yet Habakkuk declared that he would still rejoice in the Lord and find joy in the God of his salvation.

His circumstances had not changed—but his perspective had.

The message of Habakkuk reminds us that inner peace does not depend on outward prosperity. We may not understand God’s plan, but we can trust His character, His timing, and His sovereignty.

Even if God does not remove the trial, change the diagnosis, restore the job, or immediately answer the question, will we continue trusting Him?

🐑 **Are You Truly Listening to the Shepherd’s Voice?**

Many voices compete for our attention—but how can we recognize the voice of Jesus and faithfully follow Him?

In Part 1 of *The Voice of the Shepherd*, Pastor Jimmy Sandoval teaches from John 10 about Jesus Christ, the Good Shepherd. His sheep recognize His voice, trust His leadership, and flee from unfamiliar voices.

Jimmy explains that believers learn to recognize the Shepherd’s voice primarily through Scripture. Without the foundation of God’s Word, we can easily confuse His voice with personal feelings, cultural pressure, false teaching, or the opinions of others.

Jesus is the true Shepherd, the gate, the way, the truth, and the life. He knows His sheep personally, willingly laid down His life for them, and offers salvation, security, abundant life, and eternal life to everyone who follows Him.

🌅 **Death Is Not the End | He Has Risen!**

Jesus Christ truly rose from the grave—and because He lives, death is not the end for those who belong to Him.

In the final message of *The Beginning of the Gospel of Jesus Christ*, Pastor Jimmy Sandoval teaches through Mark 16:1–20. When the women arrived at the tomb, they discovered that the stone had been rolled away and heard the glorious announcement: Jesus had risen!

Although Jesus had already told His followers what would happen, they struggled with doubt and unbelief. Jimmy reminds us that we often do the same—we forget what God has said and allow fear, grief, or circumstances to weaken our trust in His promises.

Even after Peter’s failure, Jesus specifically called him back. His grace was greater than Peter’s denial. Our failures do not have to be the end of our story either.

The risen Jesus appeared to His disciples, confronted their unbelief, and commissioned them to take the gospel into all the world. That same good news continues today: Jesus died for our sins, conquered the grave, and gives eternal life to everyone who trusts Him.

✝️ Jesus is alive.
🌅 The grave is empty.
🌎 The gospel must be shared.
🙏 Death is not the end.

👑 Why did Jesus—the true King—willingly remain on the cross?

Continuing through Mark 15:1–47, Pastor Jimmy Sandoval examines the trial, crucifixion, death, and burial of Jesus Christ.

Although Jesus was innocent, He did not retaliate against His accusers or make threats. He entrusted Himself to God, the One who judges justly, and willingly accepted the complete suffering of the cross in obedience to the Father.

✝️ Jesus could have come down from the cross—but He remained because we needed Him to accomplish what only He could do.

As darkness covered the land, the sinless Son of God bore our sin and experienced its terrible consequences: alienation, darkness, and isolation. Jesus took our punishment so we could receive forgiveness, His righteousness, and eternal life.

“He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

Our debt of sin cannot be paid through money, religious effort, church attendance, or good works. We must personally receive Jesus Christ and trust what He accomplished for us.

**It is not the church that saves you. It is the Savior who saves you.**

Going to church does not make someone a Christian. Salvation comes when we admit our need, receive Jesus, and trust in the King who died for us.

⛪ What makes a good church according to the Bible?

Grace Community Church missionary **Frank Benoit** teaches from 1 Corinthians about the biblical marks of a good church: a Christ-centered focus, complete unity, servant leadership, and faithful stewardship.

A good church remembers God’s faithfulness, remains in fellowship with Jesus Christ, and stays united around the same biblical doctrine, vision, and mission—the advancement of the gospel.

Frank reminds us that church leaders are called to be servants, not celebrities or stars of the ministry. God gives different responsibilities to different people, but every leader is a fellow worker serving in God’s field.

Paul planted. Apollos watered. But God caused the growth.

No pastor, teacher, missionary, or ministry leader deserves the glory that belongs to Jesus Christ.

🌱 **“It’s God who’s the star of the show.”**

Before the sermon, Frank shares an encouraging update about the missionary work he and his wife, **Salud Benoit**, are doing in Spain. Their ministry includes evangelism, discipleship, preaching, church leadership, theological education, expository-preaching workshops, and encouraging pastors and local churches.

👣 How can you stay close to Jesus when your faith is tested?

In this message from Mark 14:12–72, Pastor Jimmy Sandoval examines the Last Supper, Jesus praying in Gethsemane, Judas’s betrayal, the arrest and trial of Jesus, and Peter’s denial of Christ.

🍞 At the Last Supper, Jesus established the new covenant through His body and blood. His death, burial, and resurrection are not simply familiar parts of Christianity—they are the foundation of the gospel and the only way our sins can be forgiven.

🙏 In Gethsemane, Jesus prayed, “Not what I will, but what You will.” Salvation does not depend upon our religious efforts or the promises we make to God. It rests entirely upon what Jesus Christ accomplished for us.

🔥 Peter confidently promised that he would never abandon Jesus. But when trouble came, he followed the Lord at a distance, surrounded himself with people who opposed Christ, and ultimately denied knowing Him three times.

Jimmy’s warning is direct: following Jesus at a distance produces a distant relationship with Him and can eventually lead to denying Him.

**Stay close to Jesus—as close as you can.**

God knows our weaknesses, failures, and sinful nature completely. We cannot save or transform ourselves. We are sinners in need of the Savior, called to repent, receive His forgiveness, and surrender our lives to Him.

“Stop trying to do what you can’t do for yourself. Stop promising. Just surrender already.”

💰 What caused Judas to betray Jesus—and what does his life reveal about the love of money?

In this message from Mark 14:1–11, Pastor Jimmy Sandoval examines Jesus, Judas, and the dangerous power money can hold over the human heart. The message contrasts Judas’s secret betrayal with Mary’s wholehearted devotion to Christ.

🌿 Mary poured an extremely valuable perfume upon Jesus in a personal act of worship. Although others criticized her offering as wasteful, Jesus defended her and declared that she had done a beautiful thing for Him.

🪙 Judas had personally witnessed the miracles and teaching of Jesus. Yet his focus on money, resentment toward correction, and unwillingness to surrender his heart led him away from Christ. He instead joined those who wanted Jesus dead and agreed to betray Him for thirty pieces of silver.

Judas provides a sobering warning. When God’s Word confronts our sin, we can respond with humility and repentance—or resist His correction and allow another influence to direct our lives.

Jesus taught that no one can serve both God and money. Wealth itself is not the issue. The real question is what occupies first place in our hearts.

Mary remained at the feet of Jesus and poured out what she had upon Him. Judas chose money, resentment, and betrayal.

⚠️ **Don’t be a Judas. Be a Mary.**
