In honor of International Overdose Awareness Day, Xavier Davenport (Glide Foundation’s Assistant Director of Health Services) was our guest preacher at Glide Memorial Church today. His approach to healthcare embodies the Bible's advice to approach others with love rather than judgment. Christina LaCorte, a mother who lost a son to overdose, offered a moving witness about how community helps us move through grief.

Erin Carrera from the UCSF Roving Healthcare Initiative led a NarCan Overdose Reversal Training in Freedom Hall. We urge all of you to get trained and carry NarCan in your bag; you might save a life. The Glide Ensemble sang, "I need you to survive," in honor of this solemn day. Never forget; we all need each other to survive.

This Sunday, August 30, we’re coming together at Glide Memorial Church to honor those we’ve lost to overdose and stand with the families and communities impacted.

Join us throughout the day for Sunday Celebration, free Narcan overdose reversal training, community lunch, powerful testimonies and a community panel, followed by a special performance from Skywatchers.

One overdose is too many. Come learn, remember and be part of a community committed to saving lives.

The GLIDE Ensemble and The Change Band performed in front of thousands, and they brought the house down!

Led by our Director of Music Ministries, Zoe Ellis, the Ensemble gave Stern Grove a little taste of what we experience every Sunday at GLIDE.
