“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.” - Romans 8:26 (NIV)

When You Don’t Have the Words

There are moments in life when the weight of what we’re carrying leaves us speechless. The burden is too heavy, the pain too deep, or the situation too confusing to even know what to pray.

The good news is that God never expected us to carry those moments alone.

Romans 8:26 reminds us that the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. When we don’t have the words, He does.

When our prayers are reduced to tears, sighs, or silence, the Holy Spirit intercedes on our behalf before the Father.

What a comforting truth: God understands the prayers we cannot express. He sees the heart behind every tear and hears the cries that never make it past our lips.

If you’re facing something today that feels overwhelming, don’t let the lack of words keep you from God. Simply come to Him. Sit in His presence. Trust that the Holy Spirit is already praying for you according to God’s perfect will.

Prayer:
Father, thank You that I don’t have to have all the answers or the perfect words. When I am weak, confused, or hurting, thank You for giving me Your Holy Spirit to help me. Teach me to rest in Your presence and trust that You are working even when I don’t know what to pray. In Jesus’ name, amen.

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” - Proverbs 16:3

It’s easy to ask God to bless our plans after we’ve already decided what we want to do. But Proverbs 16:3 challenges us to do the opposite - to place our plans, dreams, decisions, and even our daily tasks into God’s hands first.

To commit something to the Lord means to surrender it completely, trusting that His wisdom is greater than our own.

When we do, God aligns our hearts with His will, guides our steps, and establishes what He desires for our lives.

Today, don’t just ask God to bless your plans. Give Him the plans themselves.

Trust Him with the outcome, knowing that His way is always better.

Prayer:
Lord, I commit my plans, dreams, and decisions to You. Lead me according to Your will and establish the path You have prepared for me. Help me trust You completely, even when I cannot see the whole picture. In Jesus’ name, amen. ❤️🔥

“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” - Ephesians 4:29

Beneficial Words

Whether it’s your family members or any of the other people in your life, they’re going to make mistakes, say things they shouldn’t, or may do things that are wrong and bring embarrassment. It’s tempting to gossip or talk disparagingly about them. But God wants you to protect their reputation. There may be things said or done behind closed doors, but outside you need to be their biggest cheerleader.

Don’t call your friends and tell all the negative things about your brother or coworker. Don’t tell others what you know is going to make someone look bad.

While they may not deserve it, you need to honor your family members and others in front of other people.

You may have a private disagreement, but don’t let it go public.

It’s always good to ask yourself: Will what I’m about to say benefit others? Is it going to build them up, make them look better? Or is it going to tear them down, give them less credibility, or poison their reputation?

Protect those whom God has given you by speaking beneficial words.

Prayer For Today

“Father, thank You that You have given me the gift of speaking words that are wholesome and beneficial. Help me pay attention to what I’m actually saying to others. I commit myself to taming my tongue and using my words to bring encouragement and build others up. In Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen.”

Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.” John 20:27

Times of Doubt

Thomas was one of Jesus’ disciples. He traveled with Jesus, saw His miracles, and was taught by Him. Yet when Jesus rose from the dead, Thomas doubted. Jesus didn’t hold that against him, but came to him that he might believe.

In a similar way, John the Baptist baptized Jesus, saw the heavens open and heard God say, “This is My beloved Son.” Yet when John was discouraged in prison, he told his disciples, “Go ask Jesus if He really is the Messiah.” After seeing all the incredible signs, you would think John would believe. But Jesus didn’t hold that against John. He understood what John was going through and reassured him that He was the Messiah.

We all have times of doubts, times when we’re discouraged and worried, wondering, “I don’t understand this. I don’t see how this promise from God can work out.” But don’t get locked up in that mindset.

Be vulnerable and honest about it, just as Thomas and John were.

Ask Him for help, remember what He’s done in the past, and believe what He is saying to you.

Prayer For Today

“Father, thank You that I don’t have to hide my weaknesses, doubts, fears, or shortcomings. Thank You that Your power goes to work in me when I am honest. I humbly admit that I don’t have it all together, but I’m glad You’re still working on me. In Jesus Mighty Name. Amen.”

“Love your neighbor as yourself.” - Matthew 22:39

Do You Like Yourself?

One thing that holds us back from seeing changes in our life is when we don’t love who we are.

If you’re not happy with the way God made you, there’s a constant battle going on inside—never feeling good enough always feeling wrong, with vague feelings of disapproval.

If you don’t learn to like yourself as you are, weaknesses and all, you’ll always feel like you should be better.

Added to the problem is that you have to live with you. You can never get away from yourself. If you don’t like yourself, life is going to be miserable.

It’s very powerful when you can say, “I like myself. Yes, I need to improve in some areas. I need to do better. But I’m at peace with who I am right now. I accept myself. I approve myself. I am not a finished product. God is in charge, and He’s still working on me, making me and molding me. It is not just up to me. I’m going to relax and enjoy life while God is in the process of changing me.”

Prayer For Today

“Father, thank You for making me in Your image with gifts, talents, and abilities to enjoy life and accomplish Your will. Help me to love myself, with all my weaknesses and shortcomings and things I wish were different. I know that I am happy to be who You made me to be. In Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen.”
