May you be covered in the dust of your Rabbi.”

In Pirkei Avot, (an early collection of Jewish teachings) a part of the Mishnah focused on how to live, it describes following so close you’re covered in the dust of your rabbi.

And we were reminded that’s what we should desire for God. That we follow so closely that he begins to rub off on us. But it goes deeper than that. When we’re close, we’re covered by his love, joy, peace, healing, and so much more. As David says, “forget not ALL His benefits.”
You’re covered. Don’t walk from a distance. Stay close ❤️
Because when I stay close, I’m covered in His love, His peace, His wisdom… in every part of my life.

This Sunday, God led us to ask a very simple, yet important question. Who else is worthy?
We don’t think twice about what we want… but hesitate when it comes to what we need.

We can binge shows, scroll for hours, make plans, and show up for everything else—yet struggle to pray, seek God, or open His Word.

If we have time for everything else… we have time for God.

The question isn’t can we, it’s will we?
1. Exodus 20:3–4 (NIV)
“You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an image… you shall not bow down to them or worship them.”

Between Fiesta San Antonio and the San Antonio Spurs… the city shows up. The energy is real. The culture is alive.

But the question is deeper than that:

Who else is truly worthy… of your time, your energy, your devotion? If you made the time to cheer for the spurs this week or time to get to fiesta, make your way to church! Get your praise on! 🙌🫡👏
