Thank you for all you do to minister to new members. We appreciate your willingness to serve.

This weekend, as you minister, will you help at least one new member take another step in their temple and family history journey?

As you meet with them, you may help them learn about temple and family history work - how it *focuses on the Saviour Jesus Christ*, add as many as possible family names to their tree, and, if possible, make their deceased family names temple ready by adding date and place of birth *or* death.

*Tip 5 of 5*

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

One of the greatest ways we can strengthen new members is by helping them experience the joy of worshipping in the house of the Lord as early *as their circumstances allow.*

Temple covenants and ordinances draw us closer to Jesus Christ, bringing His guidance, comfort, strength, and protection. *New members do not need to wait until receiving their endowment.* With a recommend for proxy baptisms and confirmations, they can begin worshipping in the temple.

*As leaders, we can help them:*

- Sign in to FamilySearch using their Church Account: https://familysearch.me/4uhoWE9
- Receive a family name through Family Name Assist or Ordinances Ready.
- Add what they know to FamilySearch—names, dates, photos, and stories.

*Temple worship continues after the endowment*. As members return with family names, they join the Savior in His work of uniting families for eternity.

*Tip 4 of 5: How Leaders Can Help*

Dear Friends,

Leaders can help new members come unto Jesus Christ by making their first temple experience personal. *Family Name Assist* enables leaders to quickly prepare a family name so members can participate in proxy baptisms for one of their own ancestors. *This helps them to gather their family to Jesus Christ and also preserve testimony for future generations.*

*Who can use it?*
Bishoprics, Branch Presidencies, organization presidencies, and Temple and Family History Leaders and Consultants can use *Family Name Assist*, even if the member does not know their Church Account username or password.

Get started:

*Tip 3 of 5: How Leaders Can Help*

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Every member has the sacred privilege of helping their family receive temple ordinances drawing them closer to the Saviour. FamilySearch’s Family Tree helps make that possible.

*How you can help:*

*1. Invite them to sign in*
Use their Church Account: *https://familysearch.me/4uhoWE9*

*2. Encourage them to add names*
Invite youth, new members, and returning members to add their deceased ancestors to the Family Tree

*3. Make names temple-ready*
Show them how to add: gender, date and place of birth or death.

Members with fewer than 4 generations will see *"Prepare a Family Name for the Temple."*
Click *"Begin"* and follow the guided steps.

*4. Help one-on-one* Sit with members to call relatives and gather names and dates. This personal help often makes the biggest difference.

As we help new members and youths in our wards and branches, it is important they understand the truth that Temple and Family History work helps individual and families come unto Jesus Christ, receive His saving ordinances, make and keep sacred covenants, and experience the joy, peace, and power that come through His Atonement.

Leaders have the privilege and responsibility to help members see this Christ-centered perspective. *Our focus should always be on the Savior and the plan of salvation.*

1. *Leadership & Consultant Session*:Train ward leaders with Temple and Family History calling or assignments on how to support members and strengthen family history efforts in their wards and branches.
