THIS IS WHY ALTO IS SO UNIQUE

Have you ever wondered why the alto voice is so important in a choir?

The alto may not always carry the main melody, but it gives the choir something special: DEPTH, WARMTH, AND HARMONY.

Here are 5 things that make the alto unique:

1️⃣ ALTO FILLS THE MIDDLE
The alto often sits between the soprano and lower voices, helping to connect the different parts of the choir.

2️⃣ ALTO CREATES HARMONY
While the soprano may sing the melody, the alto often sings different notes that make the music sound fuller and richer.

3️⃣ ALTO CAN BE VERY EXPRESSIVE
A good alto voice can add warmth and emotion without needing to be the loudest voice.

4️⃣ ALTO REQUIRES GOOD LISTENING
Altos must listen carefully to the soprano, tenor, and other altos so their notes fit perfectly into the harmony.

5️⃣ ALTO IS NOT “JUST A BACKUP”
The alto has its own musical role. Remove the alto, and you may immediately notice that the choir sounds thinner.
