Pastor Joel Curtis may have caused us to do a bit of soul searching since his message on Sunday!

We can check all the boxes:
☑️ I attend church every Sunday.
☑️ I give 10% of my pay to church.
☑️ I am willing to volunteer my time.
☑️ I’m a good person.
☑️ I don’t swear.
☑️ I go to church on Christmas Eve
and Easter.
☑️ The list goes on and on.

Who do YOU say I am?’

Borrowed faith,
Community faith,
Cultural faith,
Is not enough.

It’s Tuesday.
An ordinary day.
Here we are going about our work week and maybe we need a reminder that God chooses each one of us into relationship with Him, just as He did a demon-possessed woman named Mary Magdalene centuries ago. He healed her and used her to spread the Good News!

“God loves to use damaged people!

God uses the weak of the world because that IS the message of The Gospel!

God has an upside down Kingdom.
He makes Himself weak, so we become strong.

He makes Himself poor, so we become rich.

He makes Himself filthy, so we become clean.

He makes Himself sin, so we become pure.

Grace comes to us, not because we earn it or deserve it, but because we CHOOSE Him. That’s it.

It’s in our weakness that His strength shines through.

Jesus chose Mary to give us a picture of how His Grace works.
How His Gospel works.
How His church works.”

What a privilege and an eye opener to hear from a beloved missionary couple on Sunday, serving Jesus across the globe! 🌍

As we go about our daily lives in America, be mindful that Christianity is illegal in some countries.

Lives are at stake as they risk everything to share the Gospel and gather together to learn, pray, and worship.

Coffee shops can be sanctuaries.
Kitchen tables, alters.
Whispered songs, anthems.

We are The Church.
May the God of Hope “be exalted
among the nations and in the earth.”

This Sunday, August 16, we will be privilaged to welcome a missionary couple as our guest speakers. These folks aren't really "guests", as they are a part of our congregation, but we don't get to see them very often! We're looking forward to hearing from them about what God has been doing in their corner of the world.

Due to the sensitivity of their ministry, we will not be live-streaming the service.

We look forward to seeing you at Oak Dale Church this Sunday!
