Saturday Thoughts by Dawn Hampe

There’s something that grips you the first time you say the words. Suddenly, you can see your life changing, but for the better. You feel like, “wow, can I do this?” And then you look around the people who are surrounding you at this moment and say to yourself, “yes. At this moment in my life, I can do this!”
No one is perfect, and we all fail at some point in our lives. The difference now being that I’m ready. My life will be lived through Jesus Christ, our savior. Living as I have done through my life wasn’t always the best. My attitude could stink, my mouth could be mean, and I passed judgement on so many people. I didn’t feel good about myself. There was always something missing.
Attending church, listening to the sermons, reading passages in the Bible, and seeing how many of the families in our church seem happier, has made my heart want to know Jesus. I want to be worthy of him and what he’s offering to me. I want to feel Jesus’ love.
Life is so short. I know being baptized doesn’t save me. But dedicating my life to God is what I want in my life. I want to serve him and give him the love that he gives me. I need him in my life.
Next Sunday is the day. I’m really excited to continue this new aspect in my life. I’m ready. Are you?

Saturday Thoughts by Dawn Hampe

The suns finally shining down on us. It gives you a calm feeling when it touches your face. I know we go through stages in weather, but rainy days make me blue after so many days. I always appreciate when the sun returns.
I often wonder how God chose to create everything he has made. From the beauty in nature to the atmosphere, daily sunrises turning into beautiful sunsets. I know there are some scientific factors in what we see each day. But, there’s so much in our lives that can only be explained as Gods work. God has to be real.
Saying we as people have evolved from monkeys is so bizarre. If that were the case, wouldn’t all monkeys evolve? Gods word explains in detail of how he created us. God also tells us of a life here and a life after. His plans for each of us gives us our story.
Maybe scientists has you convinced that you evolved from another time when dinosaurs roamed. Or that you just showed up one day when your mama gave birth. What happens when your time on Earth is over? You’re just gone? That would be terribly sad. Some people don’t live all that long.
I know where I came from and I know where I’m going. God loves me. He will provide my eternity. My life means something because God gave my life to me. Someday, when the time is here, I will go home to God in Heaven. What a glorious day that will be.
Hopefully, everyone will discover Gods love for them. Only then will I see them again in the most glorious place ever. Where only love, happiness, and joy exist. No pain, no drugs, no murder, no Cancer or anything else that’s not good will ever be. That’s where I will be.
