GO AND DO LIKEWISE

Luke 10:36–37

Jesus ends the story with something incredibly simple:

“Go and do likewise.”

Not:

Admire the Samaritan.

Discuss the Samaritan.

Post about the Samaritan.

Study the Samaritan forever.

Go.

And do.

Jesus moves the conversation from theology to embodiment.

Mercy is not simply something you believe in.

It is something you practice.

Compassion is not simply something you feel.

It is something you move toward.

Love is not simply something you talk about.

It becomes visible.

And that is where Everyday Theology has been taking us.

Faith at home.

Faith at work.

Faith in our relationships.

Faith in our routines.

Faith when we are triggered.

Faith when we see somebody hurting.

Faith in the ordinary moments where nobody is applauding us.

So as we finish this 7-Day Devotional, ask yourself:

Who have I been seeing but not really noticing?

Who have I been passing by?

Where has God been asking me to move closer?

What act of mercy can I actually practice?

Because your theology becomes visible in the way you treat people.

Don’t just know it.

Don’t just feel it.

Go and do likewise.

Week 4 of Everyday Theology has been challenging us to move beyond simply knowing what Jesus said and begin living like Jesus lived.

Here’s what we’ve been sitting with:
DAY 1 — DO THIS
Theology cannot stop at information. There comes a point when what we know has to become what we practice.

DAY 2 — WHO IS MY NEIGHBOR?
Jesus keeps stretching our definition of who deserves our attention, compassion, and love. Neighbor has to become bigger than preference.

DAY 3 — HEAL ANYWAY
You cannot always wait for the people who wounded you to become the people who heal you. If the apology never comes, healing can still come.

DAY 4 — DO NOT PASS BY
The priest saw. The Levite looked. But both kept moving. Seeing somebody’s pain is not the same as caring about it.

DAY 5 — COMPASSION COMES CLOSE
Compassion notices. Compassion feels. Compassion acts. Sometimes God answers the prayer by asking us to move closer.

That’s the tension of this entire message:
Your theology becomes visible in the way you treat people. We can quote Scripture and still walk past people. We can know the right answer and still miss the person right in front of us. But Jesus calls us into a faith that moves. If you haven’t started the devotional yet, it’s not too late. Start where you are.

Catch up. Sit with it. Pray through it. And most importantly, practice it.

If we be honest there are times that we dont believe in GOD like we believe in the thing we are believing for is possible. Which maybe interfering with some Miracles we are waiting on.

Cant wait to see you thia Sunday.

LOVE LIVES HERE.

Church is more than a place we go it’s a family we belong to.

It’s the smiles. The hugs. The conversations. The prayers. The moments we celebrate together and the moments we carry one another through.

At The Well, we believe the love of Jesus should be more than something we talk about it should be something people can see, feel, and experience when they walk through our doors.

No matter where you’ve been or where you are on your journey, there’s a place for you here.

Come as you are. You are welcome. You are loved. You belong.

Because at The Well, Love Lives Here.

Sunday, we continued our sermon series, Everyday Theology with a powerful message from Pastor Ebonie Scarborough

Sometimes the very thing we’re asking God to take us out of is the thing He’s using to prepare us.

Pain is uncomfortable. Our instinct is often to avoid it, escape it, or pray for it to end. But sometimes God uses difficult seasons to shape our character, strengthen our faith, and prepare us for what’s ahead.

You may not understand the process while you’re going through it—but don’t waste what God can use.

The pain isn’t always the end of the story. Sometimes, it’s part of the preparation for becoming who God intended you to be.

That’s Everyday Theology—learning to trust God not only when life feels good, but even when the process hurts.

Watch the reel and share it with someone who may need this reminder today.

Live Well. Love Well. Lead Well.

YOU’RE INVITED TO THE WELL! 🙌🏾

Join us today at 11AM as we continue Week 4 of EVERYDAY THEOLOGY where what we believe meets how we actually live.

If you’ve been trying to navigate relationships, decisions, pressure, disappointment, purpose, or simply figuring out what God is doing in this season, there is a Word for you.

We don’t believe theology is just something you study. It’s something you live.

And sometimes, one Word can give language to what you’ve been feeling, clarity for what you’ve been questioning, and direction for what comes next.

Come worship. Come grow. Come as you are.

DAY 7 // DELIVERED TO REBUILD

READ Isaiah 61:1–4

Look carefully at the movement.
Good news.
Healing.
Freedom.
Release.
Comfort.

Then something shifts.

The people who were healed and restored become: oaks of righteousness.
And then: they rebuild.

That's formation.
God doesn't simply rescue people and leave them standing at the exit of their old life.
He establishes them.
Strengthens them.
Roots them.

Then turns restored people into rebuilding people.
Your deliverance has purpose.
Your healing has purpose.
Your formation has purpose.

There are things you can build now because something no longer owns you.
There are people you can help because God taught you how to walk free.
There are environments you can change because God first changed something in you.

You were not only delivered from something.
You were delivered for something.

REFLECT
What is stronger in me now than it was a year ago?
What has God rebuilt in me?
What might God want to rebuild through me?

PRACTICE
Review the past seven days.

Write down:
One pattern God revealed.
One rhythm I'm going to continue.
One thing I need to stop feeding.
One area God is rebuilding.
One person who can help me stay consistent.

Then choose your rhythm for the next 30 days.
Not seven new habits.
One intentional rhythm.
Build.
Return.
Repeat.

PRAYER
Father, thank You for freedom. Thank You for healing. Thank You for every chain You've broken and every place You've brought me out of. Now form me. Root me. Establish me. Renew my mind and rebuild my rhythms until my everyday life reflects what You've done inside me. Make me an oak of righteousness—stable enough to stand and healthy enough to rebuild. Let my freedom become fruitful. In Jesus' name, amen.

SERVING IS WHO WE ARE!

Today, our Well Reach Ministry in Action Team had the opportunity to serve 130 people through GOD’S Kitchen!

From grabbing food, cooking, prepping, and serving to simply sitting, talking, smiling, and spreading joy, dignity, and hope. Our team showed up ready to love people well.

A HUGE shoutout to the team Nicci, Pastor B, Elder Donna, Davonna, Elder Karen, Tron, Vicente, and Crystal for putting your hands to the work and your hearts into the people!

This is what ministry looks like beyond the walls.

We don’t just want to talk about being the hands and feet of Jesus; we want to LIVE IT.

Well Reach. Ministry in Action.
Helping our community see God well, one act of love at a time.
